Sunday Match Schedule
The Sunday match schedule has been posted. Please check back to be certain that you have the official match times. ____________________________________________________ Thank you for your cooperation in adjusting as we juggled the schedule to cope with the weather conditions. Thanks also to the many volunteers who helped with squeegeeing and blowdrying the courts so that matches could begin outdoors this morning. In addition, the merry group of younger volunteers who ran the match check-in desk, posted scores, and figured out who the T.B.D. (to be determined) players were on the match cards and kept them updated did an outstanding job!

Saturday Match Progress
Matches are continuing both indoors and outdoors at HSCC and outdoors at the alternate site (Lakeside), with only a few singles matches still to go on the court. Doubles matches should report to HSCC at the times scheduled, though several may be delayed because some of the players finishing singles will be given a rest break before starting doubles.
|
|
Match Format
Matches will be played on both the outdoor courts and the indoor courts at the HSCC. Because the weather projections indicate rain Friday evening and Saturday, both singles and doubles matches will consist of two sets with no add scoring and a tie-break in lieu of a third set. In case of extensive rain delays, doubles may be changed to 8-game pro sets.

Official Tournament phone is 501-624-2153
The OFFICIAL phone to call for information about rain delays is the Tennis Shop at 501-624-2153. In the event of rain delays, please call this number only. Many callers will be trying to get information, so please be brief and end your call quickly as a courtesy to other players. Remember -- we can tell you if it is raining now, but please don't ask us to guess when it will stop. The web site will be updated as soon as possible when changes in scheduling are needed.

Doubles
We encourage all players to enter doubles. You can view the list of tournament entries online and possibly find a partner. If you would like to play and do not have a partner, please register for doubles anyway and we will form doubles teams from the unpaired players. If we have an uneven number of upaired players we will draw to determine which players will be placed in the draw. If we do pair you up, please accept our pairing and don't ask to change partners. Players shown in doubles without a partner may play the event if they find a partner and notify the tennis shop before noon Saturday.

The Sunday forecast is for good weather and is expected to allow completion of the tournament............................................................. Match Schedule -- Saturday -- Note updates
The weather forecast shows several hours of clearing Saturday morning, so matches will be played as scheduled beginning at 8:30 am unless there is a change. Match times for the divisions which completed quarterfinal matches Friday evening have now been scheduled. Two consolation matches in G12 (Gray-Alford, Gibbens-Miller) will be played at 9:30 am. Other consolation matches are also scheduled -- note that B14 and B16 will be played at 10:00 and 10:30 am, respectively. Many age groups depend on the results of the quarterfinals and matches may be delayed if the earlier matches run long. Doubles matches have been scheduled beginning at 2:00 pm. ...................................................................
All of the above is based on no rain and will be revised as necessary. In the event of extended periods of rain, main draw singles matches will be played indoors (3 courts) and will be played in the following order starting at 8:30 am -- B10, B12, G14, G16, G12, B14, B16. A revised schedule will be posted online as quickly as possible. The actual schedule is expected to be a combination of the two cases above, so please be patient as we adjust to conditions. Consolations and doubles may be postponed to Sunday if we are forced to take all matches indoors, but will be played unless the total weekend is a washout.
