"Swing into Spring" Junior Championships--KY L4, STA L5

ALL MAIN DRAW AND ROUND ROBIN PLAYERS REPORT TO TOP GUN ACADEMY AT 3:30pm !! We are going to try to get this thing done !! We will still use Sawyer and will send matches there BUT everyone is to report to TOP GUN at 3:30pm !! (Claire Smith and Madeline Wagner please report to Top Gun at 3:00pm to finish your third set from yesterday)

OK HERE IS THE DEAL FOR THE REMAINDER OF SUNDAY AND PLEASE FOLLOW CLOSELY:

1. All Doubles have been cancelled.

2. All Consolation matches have been cancelled

3. All 3/4 playoff matches have been cancelled

3. We are STILL going to attempt to finish the MAIN DRAW of the tournament. We are planning on trying to start matches around 3:00pm... If you are IN THE MAIN DRAW ONLY, please check the website AGAIN at 1:00pm because that looks like when the rain will end. If it is still raining at 1:00pm,then will be cancel the tournament. Even if it stops, there is no real way to tell WHEN the matches may go on because it is not going to be sunny to help dry to courts. We will use Top Gun and Tom Sawyer and play a third set match tiebreak if we are able to play. SO MAIN DRAW ONLY CHECK BACK AT 1:00pm....

Singles and Doubles Draws are now posted. Please note the following:

1. We are using TWO SITES, Top Gun Tennis Academy (TGA) and Tom Sawyer State Park (TS). It is YOUR responsibility to note your site and your time.

2. Sunday times will be posted on Friday morning.

3. Doubles draws will be posted on Friday morning. Doubles will be played ALL on Sunday. The finals matches in the doubles will be determined based on the singles schedule.

For all questions and information regarding the tournament, please call (502) 439-8312. This is the tournament director cell phone and the ONLY way to guarantee that you will be able to get in touch with a tournament official.

This IS and WILL be an outdoor tournament !! There are no indoor courts available at this time of the year in the city of Louisville to play a tournament. We would NEED 10 courts available ALL DAY, UNINTERRUPTED Saturday and Sunday to complete the tournament. In case of bad weather (rain), please do not call me and say "I can get a court at Blairwood for an hour and half at 2:00pm". We appreciate the effort, but that will not help...... If we do have bad weather here is the plan:

1. ALL WEATHER UPDATES WILL BE POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE ASAP. WE WILL POST A NOTICE AROUND 6:00am SATURDAY MORNING. YOU MAY ALSO CALL THE TOURNAMENT PHONE AS LISTED ABOVE.

2. IN CASE OF RAIN, WE WILL DELAY THE MATCHES AS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO COMPLETE AS MUCH OF THE TOURNAMENT AS POSSIBLE.

3. WE WILL MAKE A DETERMINATION BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF ACTUAL RAIN (NOT THE FORECAST). I HAVE RUN TOURNAMENTS FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND BELIEVE ME, FORECASTS ARE NOT USUALLY CORRECT. ALSO A 100% CHANCE OF RAIN FOR A DAY MAY MEAN MORNING SHOWERS AND CLEAR AFTERNOON. WE DO NOT NEED 100 METEOROLOGISTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT CALL WITH YOUR OWN WEATHER FORECAST.

4. IF THERE IS ANY DOUBT IN YOUR MIND, PLEASE CHECK THE WEBSITE OR CALL !! DO NOT MAKE AN ASSUMPTION YOURSELF. IT MAY BE RAINING IN ONE PART OF THE CITY AND NOT ANOTHER.

With all that said, lets HOPE for good weather and some good tennis !!!!!!

The "Swing into Spring" Championships will be held at the TOP GUN TENNIS ACADEMY (TGA on draw) in Louisville. This will be an OUTDOOR tournament. Due to the USTA Adult Leagues at the indoor clubs, we will not be able to move any of this tournament indoors in the case of bad weather. We will also be using Tom Sawyer State Park (TS on the draw) due to the number of entries.

The Top Gun Academy is located only 5 or 6 minutes from The Tennis Club at Springhurst just off Old Henry Road and the Gene Snyder Expressway. Taking Gene Snyder South from Springhurst, exit off on Old Henry Road, take a right on Old Henry Road and you will see the courts about .25 mile on your right.
