LOTS OF PLAY!
All players will play at least 3 singles matches.
Depending on the number of players in the 10 & Under event, a round robin or compass draw will be played.
The 8 & Under division will play a non-elimination format.

All players must use an appropriate racket in tournament play. We will have 21", 23", and 25" rackets for the players to use that day if they do not have one.

FORMAT
10 & Under
Singles matches will be 2 out of 3 sets to 4 games. At 3 games all, the winner of the next game will win the set. The 3rd set shall be played to 7 points with the players alternating servers after every 2 points. First player to 7 points wins the set
8 & Under
Singles matches will be 2 out of 3 games to 7 points. Players will alternate serving after every 2 points. First player to 7 points win that game.

T-SHIRTS & AWARDS FOR ALL PLAYERS
Each player in the QuickStart Creason will receive a t-shirt and an award.

PIZZA PARTY
Players, parents, and volunteers will be treated to a pizza party after the matches have ended (around 4pm)

Serving
Players must serve the ball either out of hand or out of the air. The Rules of Tennis state "the server shall release the ball by hand in any direction and hit the ball with the racket before the ball hits the ground" (2009 Friend at Court, page 11, Rule 16). Bouncing the ball and hitting it over the net is not a legal serve.

Advancement to Southern Closed QST 10s
For the first time, Southern will host a Southern Closed QST 10s.
2 players will represent Kentucky in this inaugural event.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, June 2, 2010 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
