THANKS TO ALL!
Thanks to all volunteers, players, parents, officials, sponsors and many others for another great Creason! The Endorsement List will be posted on Friday by 1pm. The deadline for Southern Closed is Friday at 11:59pm. If you are interested in playing in the Southern Closed, please sign up. If you don't sign up, there is no chance you will get in. While the top 10 players get in (for the 14s, 16s, 18s), you want to sign up in case one of those can't go or if there are extra spots available. Thanks!
|
Southern Closed Information
It is the players responsibility to sign up for the Southern Closed. The Entry Deadline for Southern Closed is during the Creason, so anyone interested in playing must sign up before the Endorsement List is completed. Also, it is the player's responsibility to check the Endorsment List and Competitors and/or Alternate list for the Southern Closed event.

Tennis Parent
Junior tennis should be a fun and rewarding experience for our children. Character building lessons such as hard work, discipline, sportsmanship, and handling adversity are regularly on display. Parents of junior players should also enjoy the time spent with their children and watching them develop not just into better tennis players, but into good citizens. Regrettably, USTA Southern has encountered a disturbing trend over the past few years involving parents of junior players.
Poor or negative behavior by a parent(s) can result in in many infractions. For instance, a player can receive a Code Violation, parents can be asked to be quiet, leave the tournament site/facility, or be suspended from attending tournaments for 90 days.
|
Sportsmanship Award Nominations
Each year, USTA Kentucky awards 1 player from each division with a sportsmanship award for exceptional attitude and behavior on and off the tennis court during the Creason. Nomination forms are located at each site. Please nominate any player deserving of this award.

Players will be seeded based on the Southern Seeding Guidelines. These guidelines are used for all Southern Level 1, 1-A, 2, and 3 tournaments.
SINGLES SEEDING CRITERIA

Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of any younger age division. Players with current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding.

Notes on Draw/Schedule
1) Check the day, time, and location for each of your matches. In a few cases on Saturday, divisions play at one site, then some matches move to another (Also, see Method to the Madness below to see what sites that division will be played at)
2) The times for the later days in the tournament are tentative and could change. Make sure you check this website daily.
3) Some players who are playing a different singles and doubles division may play their doubles match at one site, then go directly to the other site for singles with a minor delay (For instance, a player in 14 doubles, but 16 singles would play doubles at St. X, then go to Seneca Park for singles).
4) Remember that some of the players in the draw are still in school. If you are playing someone still in school, you will be notified Sunday evening of any changes or by your site director.
5) Nearly every singles division has the quarterfinals and semifinals scheduled for the same day. Players who win the quarterfinals will get a long break before the semifinal (doing this speeds the main draw up by 1 day and does not affect the backdraw)
6) Some doubles divisions will play a 2nd doubles match on a day to help the large draws speed up.
|
No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, May 25, 2010 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
