NEW FOR 2010!! Required for all 10’s & 12’s playing in Futures tournaments. At least one parent or guardian of a child planning to enter the 10’s or the 12’s of Futures Tournaments must view the Parent Education Forum presentation prior to the deadline of the tournament. In this presentation, NC Tennis has attemped to lay out some basic behavioral “do’s and don’ts” based on a survey of players and parents. The presentation highlights good behaviors as well as bad behaviors from the players' perspectives. Players will not be allowed to compete unless the presentation is viewed and the certification form (found at the end of the presenation) is submitted. This tournament is a Futures/NC Level 5 event. Therefore, this tournament restricts those players that are ranked too high in the NC standings from playing. ALSO, IF YOU ARE INELIGIBLE FOR ONE DIVISION, YOU ARE INELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN ANY DIVISION FOR FUTURES TOURNAMENTS (i.e. If you are ranked 80 or higher in the Girls 12s, you are ineligible for the Girls 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s). All withdrawals must be sent by e-mail to toddupchurch@hotmail.com and called into the tournament desk at the site where you are scheduled to play once the tournament has started. There are NO REFUNDS after the deadline. See Important Phone Numbers above.

Draws and match times are posted online after 8:00 AM 11/16/10. To view your match time and location, click on Draws and select the appropriate age division from the 'drop down box'. Throughout the course of the tournament, it is the player's responsibility to verify that their match times/locations are accurate. Schedule changes may be unavoidable due to weather and/or withdrawals. IT IS THE PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FIND YOUR TIME, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE.

Awards will be presented to the Winner and Finalist of the Main Draw, and the Winner and Finalist of the Consolation. 8&U Quickstart and 10&U Quickstart will receive awards for winners and finalists only, other will receive participation certificate.

Do you play Junior Team Tennis or High School Tennis? If you are playing in a tournament for the first time, are eligible to receive a voucher towards FREE entry into this Futures event! The procedure for obtaining the voucher and entering the tournament is as follows: 1. If you are a JTT participant contact Marusa at NC Tennis at marusa@nctennis.com to request a voucher. If you are a High School team player, please contact Jane Scott at jane@nctennis.com. Marusa and Jane may also be contacted by calling 336-852-8577. 2. Enter the tournament online prior to the deadline. 3. Bring the voucher with you to check-in for your first match and present it to the tournament director. You will receive reimbursement in 3-4 weeks. First time participants should be sure to carefully read all the information on this site.

All draws will have First Match Loser Consolation Round. Scoring for the main draw and consolation will be the best of three sets with a 10-point match tie-break in lieu of the third set. Approved alternate scoring may be used for all matches in the event of inclement weather. Please see information and link below for 8&U and 10&U QuickStart details.

Tournament is open to all USTA Juniors 16 & under except those with the following standings: Boys & Girls 18s: 1-50 Boys & Girls 16s, 14s, 12s: 1-80 and Boys & Girls 10s 1-10. A player ineligible to play Futures in any age group is ineligible to play Futures in all age groups.

This event will be coed (boys and girls in the same group). Format will be round robin or compass draw (depending on number of entries) so that players are guaranteed 3 matches, each lasting approximately 20 minutes. Play will be held on 36-foot courts with the level 1 Red Ball. Matches are scheduled for Saturday, November 20. Specific court location and time to be determined. The draw may be limited to 16 players in which case, players will be drawn by lot. The entry fee is $13 and you must enter online through Tennislink. Players must be 8 years of age or younger. If you turn 9 in November, you are not eligible to play. Players must be current USTA members and have the appropriate size racquet (19", 21", or 23").

In order to truly enjoy the sport of tennis, it is essential to display good sportsmanship which includes abiding by the rules, playing fair, and showing respect for your opponent. At the conclusion of the tournament, one boy and one girl who demonstrated these qualities will be awarded the 2010 Charlotte Fall Futures Sportsmanship Award.

The Jeff Adams Tennis Center (1200 W. Tyvola Road, Charlotte, NC 28217) is the tournament headquarters site. Auxiliary sites may be added. Additional courts may be used at Park Road Park...6220 Park Road, Charlotte, NC: From Jeff Adams, turn left out of the parking lot onto Tyvola Road. Follow Tyvola (over I-77) to Park Road. Turn right onto Park Road. Tennis courts are on the left just before the next intersection

The Medical Release Form is required by USTA Southern Section. The Medical Release must be signed by a parent or guardian. Please be sure to provide a telephone number where you can be reachded during the tournament. A signed form is extremely important in the event your child may need emergency medical assistance and you are not at the court site. Please download and bring with you to registration otherwise the form must be completed at registration. No player will be allowed on court without this form. Check in will be available starting at 4:00 pm on Friday, November 19 at both Jeff Adams Tennis Center and Park Road Park. Players should check in at the site where their first match is scheduled at least 30 minutes ahead of their match time. Please be sure to have a signed Medical Release (printable from this website below) with you for check-in. If you were provided an entry voucher, please bring that to check-in as well. Late entries who have not paid their entry fee will be required to submit payment prior to their first match. PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON COURT IF WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SIGNED MEDICAL RELEASE AND THEIR ENTRY FEE. more info

The tournament will be played with USTA approved Wilson tennis balls.
