HEAT WARNING!
The current weather forecast is for temperatures of 102-103 degrees this weekend. Please come prepared for the heat. Bring plenty of water (a full jug, not just a small water bottle) and a hydrating drink, such as Gatorade or Powerade, that can replenish electrolytes. Bring an ice chest with ice to use to cool down during changeovers. Wear a hat and bring a Frogg Togg or bandana to keep you cool during the match. Our officials will be watching for signs of heat exhaustion.

WITHDRAWALS
ALL WITHDRAWALS must be done by email so there is a written record of the withdrawal. Please send an email to the tournament director at mia@southlaketennis.com. There are penalty points for withdrawing from the event, but they are much less than those for being a "no show". There are no refunds after the entry deadline has passed.

ENTRIES ARE CLOSED
The entries for this tournament are closed. There will be NINE SITES for the event. We will post the abbreviations for each site by Monday and the draws will be posted by Tuesday. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE DRAW FOR THE CORRECT SITE. There is no allowance for showing up at the wrong courts.

WELCOME TO THE STC ZAT
Welcome to the Southlake ZAT! We look forward to hosting this event again this year. Southlake is located about 15 minutes west of DFW Airport, in-between Dallas and Fort Worth. We have 13 lighted hard courts and a full service pro shop. Stringers will be available at the main site throughout the tournament. There are drinks and snacks at the main site. We have approximately 20 restaurants within 5 miles of the main site.

TOURNAMENT INFO
This is a tournament for ZAT players only. ZATs are for junior players who are trying to qualify for a Texas ranking and have not yet achieved Champs status. The event will award points for each round won. The winners of each division automatically qualify for Champs level play and may enter that level in the following month. Please note that there are no refunds for withdrawals after the entry deadline.

MATCH CHECK-IN
MATCH CHECK IN: Players must check in AT THE SITE OF THEIR MATCH with the site director 15-20 minutes prior to the scheduled time of their match. You must check in before EACH MATCH. Once you have checked in it is assumed you are immediately available for a match.
MATCH TIMES: Players are responsible for obtaining their own match times. Prior to the tournament, players are responsible for checking the tournament website, as times may change due to withdrawals. During the event, players are responsible for asking the site director for new match times and sites.

USTA OFFICIAL AND RULES
There will be at least one USTA official at each site who is responsible for enforcing USTA rules.The 15 minute default rule is in place. The Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced, including penalties for racquet abuse and audible obscenities. We will try to provide court monitors when requested. Junior players and parents should know the current USTA Texas Section rules. Parents are not allowed to interfere with on-going matches, including talking to their child or requesting an official unless there has been an injury. ONLY PLAYERS can request officials.

SITE AMENITIES
There are bathroom facilities at each site. We will have limited amounts of water and ice at each site for players, so please bring your own water. Snacks are available at the main site only, but there are restaurants within a mile of each site.

TOURNAMENT HOTEL
PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. There is a large race at the Texas Motor Speedway this weekend and rooms will be hard to find. The tournament hotel is the Marriott Solana in Westlake. There is a special rate of $89.00 for tournament players. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes away from the main site and provides transportation from the hotel to the main site. Reservations can be made by calling 817-430-5000. Ask for the STC ZAT rate.

Host Hotel-Marriott Solana
The host hotel for the tournament is the Marriott Solana, 817-430-5000. The hotel is 5 minutes from STC. Take 114 W to Kingswood Dr, take left at stop sign, take next left, hotel is in the back of complex. Ask for ZAT rate.

FORMAT
Boys/Girls 12-18's will play best of three set, no-ad scoring, with a regular tiebreaker at 6-6.

WITHDRAWING A PLAYER Players who want to withdraw prior to the entry deadline can do so online at the tournament home page. Players who are withdrawing after the entry deadline must send an e-mail to the tournament director at mia@southlaketennis.com There are no refunds after the entry deadline.
|
|
ICE AND WATER We do not have water jugs on the court. Players must bring a water jug with them. We have an ice machine and water dispenser on site.
|
|
DRESS CODE
Players and spectators are asked to wear attire appropriate for a family environment. All guests are required to wear shirts, no sports bras/bare abdomens. Spectators are not allowed on the courts at any time. No smoking.

|
TENNIS ETIQUETTE
We request that spectators use good sportsmanship when observing matches. This means clapping for good points on both sides and refraining from cheering when opponents make errors. ONLY PLAYERS can request a linesperson or umpire.
