PLAYERS REGISTERED AND PLAYING IN
THE ANN ARBOR JUNIOR OPEN CANNOT REGISTER ONLINE FOR THE MIDLAND
JUNIOR DOG DAYS TOURNAMENT UNTIL THEY ARE OFFICALLY OUT OF THE ANN
ARBOR JUNIOR OPEN. REGISTRATION FOR THIS TOURNAMENT WILL REMAIN
OPEN UNTIL 6:00 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11. Please read the
following information thoroughly before registering for this
tournament.
It is unfortunate that the Ann
Arbor Junior Open and the Midland Jr. Dog Days tournament overlap
in scheduled dates by one day (Ann Arbor finishes on Friday, August
13 and Midland is scheduled to begin on that same day [Friday
matches may, or may not be necessary-it will depend on the number
of entrants in the tournament]). Any matches scheduled for Friday
will not begin before 2:00 p.m. In the past there has always been
at least a week in between these two tournaments, and we intend to
avoid this conflict next year. For this year, however, we are
making the following extension to the registration deadline to
accommodate as many players as possible that would like to play in
both tournaments. The online registration deadline will be extended
through 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11. HOWEVER, PLAYERS CANNOT
REGISTER FOR THE DOG DAYS TOURNAMENT UNTIL THEY ARE OFFICIALLY OUT
OF THE ANN ARBOR TOURNAMENT. IMPORTANT-Any player who registers for
the Dog Days Tournament and then withdraws after 6:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, August 11 because they are still playing in Ann Arbor
will be assessed 5 suspension points (please see the following
information regarding the USTA Suspension Point
System).
USTA SUSPENSION POINTS FOR
MULTIPLE TOURNAMENT ENTRIES
"Players will be assessed five
(5) suspension points for entering two or more tournaments, matches
or exhibitions scheduled to take place at the same time, in whole
or in part, unless each tournament director agrees to the multiple
entries in writing." IMPORTANT REMINDER- A player must be
officially out of the Ann Arbor Junior Open in order to register
online for the Midland Jr. Dog Days Tournament.
No Doubles for 2010
The Midland Community Tennis
Center outdoor courts will be under construction in July, and we
will have a limited number of outdoor courts available for play. A
2nd nearby outdoor court site may be used during the tournament
and/or some matches may be played on the tennis center's indoor
courts. Because of limited courts and the desire to stay on
schedule, the doubles events will not be offered this
year.
Player Selection TypeNo Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, August 11, 2010 6:00:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
