Thank you to everyone for helping to make our tournament a huge success! We really appreciate the support and cooperation of all the players, parents and coaches throughout the weekend! We hope you will come back next year. Please consider our other tournaments also. We have a SC Level 3 (Southern Level 5) in September and a brand new tournament in December. For those of you aging up, join us for the new South Carolina/Georgia Dual State Championship. (16s and 18s - Southern Level 4 tournament. December 27th - 31st, 2010). (12s and 14s play in Savannah, GA).

SPORTSMANSHIP
We will be giving a girls and boys Sportsmanship Award. MyTennis Network.com and Wilson have generously donated a brand new Wilson racquet for each winner. Please notify the tournament staff of any specific examples you have witnessed for superb Sportsmanship during the weekend.

AMENITIES
Atlanta Bread Co. will have food and refreshments for all players, parents, and coaches during Friday's check-in. A cookout lunch for all players will be provided on Saturday from 11-1 at VDM tennis center (other guests may eat lunch for a small fee). Subway will provide a meal coupon which may be used for lunch or dinner Saturday-Monday. Atlanta Bread Co will provide bagels, muffins, pastries, and coffee each morning. Fruit will be available throughout the tournament.

FIRST MATCH TIMES
Draws and First match times are now posted. You can find your first match time on the draw or above in the report: FIRST MATCH TIMES REPORT. The draws will be posted later today. Please make sure you pay attention to which SITE as well as the TIME you are playing. (Sites are listed in the next message on this web page). You will receive maps at registration. We suggest you arrive early to make sure you know how to get to your site. The Point Penalty System will be in effect.

DIRECTIONS
Directions to VDM Tennis Center from I-95, take exit 8 (Hilton Head Is) onto Hwy 278. Stay on Hwy 278 onto the island. At the north end of the island, Hwy 278 will fork... take left-hand fork onto the Cross Island Pkwy(Toll Road). Pay the toll and proceed until you reach the Sea Pines traffic circle. Take the second exit off of the circle onto Pope Avenue. At the second traffic light take a right onto Cordillo PKWY. Drive about 200 yards and take a left onto Deallyon Avenue. Drive past the Player's Club Resort entrance and turn right immediately after the Player's Club building.(You will see courts on both the left and right side of Deallyon). Physical address of the main site is: 19 DeAllyon Avenue, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.

ON SITE ALTERNATES
All "On Site" alternates must register at the tournament desk at the Main Site, Van Der Meer Tennis Center. Please send an e-mail to JustynSchelver@hotmail.com if you plan to be an on site alternate. On-Site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List, which is in order by Southern Standings with the late entries being added at the bottom.

DRESS CODE
For the Boys: Any T-shirts worn must be plain or tennis related. No underwear should be visible above waist band or below hemline. Shirts must be worn at all times. Shorts must be worn appropriately above pelvic bones. Sleeveless shirts are acceptable if made that way - no cutoffs. For the Girls: Any T-shirts must be plain or tennis related. Skirts and shorts must be worn appropriately above the pelvic bones. The bottom of your shirt must touch the top of your skirt or shorts while standing upright- shoulders back. This means do not roll down your skirts or shorts. Thank you for your cooperation.

TRAINER - DEFAULT
A trainer will be on site at the main site, Van der Meer Tennis Center. Remember that if you default due to an injury during the tournament, you have to speak directly to the Head Referee. Speaking to anyone else will result in a "Default-No Show" for your match. By law, trainers are not allowed to distribute any medicine. Please bring your own Tylenol, Advil, Aleve, or any other medications you may need. If you have an injury or illness we suggest that you see the trainer.
If you need to withdrawal do to an injury or illness, the process will be smoother if we have confirmation from the trainer. Without confirmation or a written doctor’s excuse by 5:00pm est Monday you may incur suspension points for leaving. Remember if you default from the tournament due to injury you must the Head Referee in person or it will count as a “No Show”.

PRATICE COURTS
Practice courts will be available on Friday at Van Der Meer Tennis Center(13 hard) at 6:00 PM and Shipyard(4 hard) at 5:30PM. Courts will be 1st come/1st serve (4 players per court).
Match Play Sites-VDM Tennis Center(VDM)-main site, VDM Shipyard(SHIP)-check in, Chaplain Park (CHAP), Hilton Head Beach and Tennis (HBT), and Hilton Head High School (HIGH).
Practice Sites-Cordillo Courts(3 hard), Hilton Head Middle School (4 hard), and VDM Tennis Center(3 hard). Alll practice courts will be 1st come, 1st serve (4 per court). STRINGING
Heinrich Bremer is the head of stringing and can be reached at 843-290-8933 in an emergency. Otherwise racquets should be turned in at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center Pro Shop located at 17 Deallyon Avenue

POINT PENALTY SYSTEM
USTA Point Penalty System will be used. We suggest you show up at the site where you are scheduled to play at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled match time! Point Penalty System will be enforced.

MANDATORY CHECK IN
Mandatory Check In: Friday, April 30th, 2010: 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Van der Meer Tennis Center. (NOT VDM SHIPYARD)! All players must check-in at this time. Multiple sites will be used, so there will not be time to check-in prior to matches on Saturday, May 1st. Except for a true emergency, there is no excuse for not being at check-in by 8:00 pm. For those of you who do have an emergency and can not attend this meeting, you need to do the following:
1) Make sure your entry fee has been paid by Friday night. You will not be considered a competitor until your fee is paid.
2) Fax your Medical Release Waiver with your cell phone number and hotel info to 843-785-7032 attn Justyn Schelver. You must receive an email response back stating that we have everything we need for registration. Contact phone numbers for the weekend are crucial!!
3) All players are responsible for obtaining all information covered during this meeting.
4) Your birth certificate must be on file with the Southern office. If not, please fax or bring a copy with you to the registration or email it to us in advance.
5) You must then come to the main site on Saturday morning between 7 AM and 9 AM before your first match. (This way we can be assured that you have arrived). You must be registered at the main site before you will be allowed to play!! We have a lot of alternates who are hoping for an opportunity to play, so please let us hear from you!! We want to give them as much notice as possible.

TRAINING SESSIONS
ACADEMY TRAINING SESSION AVAILABLE: Van Der Meer Tennis Academy is offering a discounted rate to all Bullfrog participants for sessions taking place from Tuesday, April 27 - April 30. Morning practice session will take place from 10:00 to noon with afternoon session taking place from 3:30-6:00. Cost will be $45 per session. You will find it listed above under the reports section. Please make sure you have sent in a copy of your birth certificate and medical release form. Also make your reservation early for accomodations. This is an extremely busy time of year for the Island! We have listed lots of options below.

ALTERNATES
Alternates by Event Report will be updated daily. Contact us immediately if you realize that you cannot come. It is the alternates' responsibility to check the website to see if your alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to contact you if your status does change to being in the tournament. (If we have contact information for you.) You should make sure your contact information is correct on your membership profile. If you are unsure, please email additional contact information to the Tournament Director. Once an alternate is selected for play, payment is due immediately. If you plan to enter another tournament, you must withdraw as an Alternate prior to entering the other tournament.
An ORDERED ALTERNATES REPORT will be posted above. This is the order Alternates will be contacted for any open spots. 1) Contact Information-please email me the best contact information for you, such as a work phone or a cell phone. Below is the timeline detailing how much time you have to respond. 2) Payment-if you accept a spot, you must overnight your entry fee. Since you were not selected in the initial batch, your credit cards were never processed. An Alternate will not be listed as a competitor until the entry fee has been received. The entry fee is $48.88 made payable to Van der Meer Tennis, P.O. Box 5902, Hilton Head Island, SC 29938. We assume that you still want in the tournament as long as you are on the Alternates by Events List. Please contact us immediately if you want your name removed from the alternate list. It is the Alternate's responsibility to check the website to see if your alternate status has changed. No Alternates will be contacted after 12:00 noon, Friday May 1st and no changes will be made.

WITHDRAWALS
All Withdrawals after entries close must be sent in writing by E-mail to JustynSchelver@hotmail.com. Please be aware that if a player withdraws for any reason other than illness, injury, or a family emergency, suspension points can be given to that player. We will be checking if players that withdraw from the Bullfrog tournament are playing in other tournaments that same weekend. NO Refunds will be issued for players withdrawing after Sautrday, April 24th, 2010 after 8:00 AM as per Friend At Court National Regulations. Anyone withdrawing (for any reason) seven (7) days prior to the tournament start date through the event will receive a 1 (one) suspension point suspension point from Southern USTA. (NEW for 2010) Defaulting during the tournament You MUST see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee. DO NOT tell anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. You must see the head referee in person or it will be counted as a “No Show” which carries a penalty of 5 suspension points. No telephone withdrawals will be accepted. Withdrawal BEFORE Sunday 4/18/09 11:59 pm Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the left side of your screen then locate "WITHDRAW." From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself.

SELECTIONS
Top 64 players applying from the USTA/Southern latest Standing List..56 players from this age group will be selected and up to 8 players from the younger age group who are eligible for the younger age group, who have a standing in the top 80 of the younger age group, and are not in the selected 56, will be selected.

LATE ENTRIES
Late entries may be accepted or a new player may be substituted into the draw if the Tournament Committee determines that the ability of a new player does not invalidate the seeding. Please note that "Late Entries" will be placed at the bottom of the Alternates List. Please E-Mail JustynSchelver@hotmail.com.

ENTERING TWO DIVISIONS
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected in the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either division would remain on the alternates lists for both division but would be obligated to play the division they first get in from the alternates list. They would be removed from the Alternates list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

SCORING - PLAY FORMATS
All main draw matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets. All consolation matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets with a tie-breaker in lieu of the 3rd set. The 3rd set tie-breaker will be a match tie-break played to 10 points with a margin of 2 points. The consolation will be a full feed-in consolation through the quarterfinals. There will be a play-off for 3rd and 4th place in the main draw.

SEEDING
USTA Southern Level 1, 2 and 3 Tournaments. SINGLES SEEDING CRITERIA Seeding shall be done using only the results from most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists (April 20th, 2010) of the division in the order in which players appear on the list. Definition of Most Recently Published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists: Southern Designated Published List at least 8 days prior to tournament start. In addition to the list, other criteria to consider: Players who have a standing in the next younger age division MAY be CONSIDERED for seeding in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of any younger age division. Players with current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding. We will be using the list published on Tuesday, which will include play from the previous weekend. Seeds will be posted the same day.

Players are selected from a designated Section or District ranking list.
