TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION
Registration: will begin February 26th (Friday) at 2:00 PM until Saturday at 7:30 til noon. Players who do not register may register ONE HOUR before their schedule match time. Registration is at the main site John Drew Smith Tennis Center only. Only the player is allowed to register into the tournament.

SEEDING
USTA SOUTHERN SINGLES SEEDING CRITERIA: Seeding shall be done using only the results from the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings List (Published List used for selections) of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.
Players who have a standing in the next younger age division MAY be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings List of any younger age division. Players with current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 10000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding.

WITHDRAWALS
WITHDRAWALS: If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so online (follow the directions listed at the bottom of this message). All withdrawals after entries close must be sent in writing by E-Mail to maconten@bellsouth.net. You must include the reason for the withdrawal, players name, players age division and USTA #. We also would like for you to include phone contact information just in case we need to call you. Please notify us immediately upon your decision to withdraw so another player will have an opportunity to be selected to play. Players not withdrawing on or before 9:00 AM on Saturday, February 20TH will NOT be refunded the entry fee as regulated by Friend At Court - National USTA Regulations. Thank you!

SELECTION CRITERIA
SELECTION CRITERIA
Entry will be based on selection criteria of 56 from the age group of the event and up to 8 from the lower age group who do not get in the first 56, and who are in the top 80 of the Southern standings in the lower age group at the time of selection.

SCORING REGULATIONS/ FORMAT OF PLAY
Main Draw--2 out of 3 tie-break sets (new balls provided for the third set ).
Consolation--2 out of 3 sets, playing a match tie-break in lieu of third set ( 10 points ).
All main draw matches will be best two out of three sets.
All consolation matches will be best two out of three sets with a tiebreaker in lieu of the third set. The third set tiebreaker will be a match tiebreak played to ten points with a margin of two points.
The consolation will be a full feed-in consolation through the quarterfinals.
There will be a playoff for third and fourth place in the main draw.

ALTERNATES IN TWO DIVISIONS
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alt. list. They would be removed from the Alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

DOUBLES INFORMATION
This tournament will have doubles
The tournament ID for doubles registration is 703497810.
Doubles play will begin on Friday evening with two rounds. ( It is an 8-game pro set.)
We do NOT partner players.
Please enter doubles in the same age group that your were accepted in for singles.
It is your job to find a partner, confirm the partnership, and then register by the doubles deadline.
BOTH partners must (mandatory) sign up with your partner.
If you only are playing doubles, then the fee is $25.00, which is payable at the first doubles match.

Contact Information: Due to Alternate notification, time changes, and draw changes, it is imperative for you to add contact information (email and phone) during the online registration process when asked. So a player does not lose out, please help us by offering this contact information.

DOUBLES FOR THIS TOURNAMENT
This tournament does have doubles. However, to make it easier and more efficient for you to know first who made the singles tournament and then select a doubles partner, we have set up another tournament id and page just for doubles registration. Doubles registration will open on February 17 after the competitor's list for singles is posted. Doubles registration will close on February 19. FACEBOOK FOR A DOUBLES PARTNER
The tournament will NOT partner players for Doubles. Each player is responsible for finding his or her own partner and MUST register prior to the doubles deadline. Partnerships must be confirmed and its mandatory for partners to sign up with each other. To assist players in finding a doubles partner, please visit the tournament facebook group page.

PRACTICE COURTS
Practice Courts: All sites wil have practice courts until all first matches of the day have started. More information will come Thursday.
Tattnall Gate is open for practice, the club house is closed.(Monday March 1st)

COMPETITOR and ALTERNATE LISTS and LATE ENTRANT INFO
The ordered "Alternate Lists" should be posted February 17. Late entries will appear at the end of these lists and are ordered by the time that the tournament received notification.
The "Competitor List", located directly above, is the list of players selected for the tournament. This is the list that changes as players are withdrawn and then replaced.

ALTERNATES
The alternates by Event Report will be updated daily. Contact us immediately if you realize that you cannot come. It is the alternate's responsibility to check the website to see if your alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to contact you if your status changes and as a result you are selected to play in the tournament. You should make sure your contact information is correct on your membership profile. The tournament will not be responsible for a player not selected in the event the tournament cannot contact him/her due to incorrect or outdated contact information. Once an alternate is selected for play, payment is due immediately. Click the "Alternate by Events" tab above to view the updated alternates list. (Payments are not made on line for alternates).

ENTERING TWO TOURNAMENTS (Including those on the Alternate List)
Do not enter two tournaments at the same time. How to avoid Penalties: If you end up on the alternate list, you must with-draw from the alternate list first and then enter the 2nd event. Tournaments have different deadlines that will allow you time to make your changes.

A signed medical release form is required prior to playing in the tournament. Parent or guardian must sign the medical release.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES / PROOF OF CITZENSHIP
All players must have a Birth Certificate on file in the Southern office for proof of US citizenship..Green cards will be accepted, but passports will not. A file of those with proof on file is posted above.

Friday Doubles Start Times:
Saturday start Times for Doubles: Refer to the draws on the Doubles sites. Friday Doubles Start Times: Be prepared to play doubles beginning at 5pm on Friday, though of course, not everybody will start at 5pm. Match times will be available Thursday by 12:00 PM (noon). On Friday, we shall be using two sites for the doubles.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, February 14, 2010 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
