Semi-Finals Rules of Play – 2/12/10 9:30 PM

Match play will be best 2 of 3 sets in Finals only, (early rounds including the semi-finals will play a Coman format 10 point Super Tiebreak in place of a 3rd set. This is necessary because we had to compress 3 days of play into the final 2 weekend days.

Updated Draws 2/11/10 12:15 AM

The updated draws with times and locations have been posted. Please note that we will be using three (3) different sites on Saturday 2/13/10. Heritage Park (HER) from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Woodbridge High School (WHS) from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM and University High School (UHS) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Want to play Friday Night? 2/9/10 12:05 PM

If you would like to schedule your next round on next Friday night and your opponent agrees, please let me know by tomorrow night 2/10. We have room for 12 matches at Heritage Park. We will have four courts at 5:30 PM and 8 courts at 7:00 PM this Friday night. You can contact me at sustej@hotmail.com. This is first come, first serve and once the 12 courts are filled up, your matches will be scheduled Saturday and Sunday.

Next Weekend 2/7/10 9:00 PM

The remaining matches will be played next Saturday and Sunday with additional courts available. We will re-schedule the remaining matches and put them on-line late Wednesday evening.

Weather Update 2/7/10 6:00 AM

Skies are clear and the courts are drying out. We plan to start play at 8:00 AM at Heritage Park and 11:00 AM at Woodbridge High School. Forecast is for a high of 60 degrees today with light winds.

Plans for Sunday 2/6/10 9:45 PM

We begin matches on Sunday at 8:00 AM at Heritage Park and at 11:00 AM at Woodbridge High. We will play the matches that should have been played on Saturday. The matches that were scheduled for Sunday will be played next weekend. Additional courts will be available to us next weekend. Please check the notes again at 6:00 AM since the forecast is for a shower or two in the morning followed by partly cloudy skies in the afternoon.

Irvine Open Rained Out for Saturday 2/6/10 9:00 AM

All matches planned for today are cancelled due to weather. They will be played tomorrow, Sunday at their original times and locations. Play will start at 8:00 AM at Heritage Park and at 11:00 AM at Woodbridge High School. Matches that had been scheduled for Sunday, will be delayed until next week. A new schedule for next week will be communicated.

Weather Update - 2/6/10 6:00 AM

There is steady rainfall at the moment. We still are hopeful that play can begin at 11:00 AM at both Heritage Park and Woodbridge High School Courts. An update will be given at 9:00 AM.

Rain Delay at Heritage-2/5/10 10:15 PM

Due to the expected rain overnight we anticipate matches starting on Saturday at 11:00am. This means Woodbridge High School match times remain as originally scheduled. However Heritage Park matches will begin with a 3 hour rain delay (8:00am matches start at 11:00 am at Heritage). We would expect to catch up and decrease delay time at Heritage throughout the day. Rules of Play – 2/5/10 8:15 AM

(1.) 10 minute warm-up, (2.) Match play will be best 2 of 3 sets in semi-final and finals only, (early rounds will play a 10 point Super Tiebreak in place of 3rd set), (3.) Coman Tiebreak procedure will be used for all tiebreaks, (4.) It is the player’s responsibility to check the draw sheets for their next scheduled match, (5.) Please make sure you silence your cell phone before the match begins

Please continue to check the notes section of this website for information regarding inclement weather other important updates. Initial weather updates will be posted by 6:00 AM Saturday morning if necessary. If no information is posted please report for your scheduled match time to avoid default.

Irvine Tennis Association Winter Classic tournament. Awards for NTRP Divisions, and cash prizes for OPEN Divisions based on draw sizes. Players must be able to play as scheduled. Tennis attire please.
