Tournament Draws are UP for SINGLES AND DOUBLES! PLEASE READ!
Draws for singles and doubles are up. Please check your draws carefully and recheck them often for changes in the schedule due to withdrawals, walkovers, emergencies, and corrections. The draws posted on the website will be what you need to go by and will be updated often. You will be responsible for your schedule. Lateness penalties will be enforced at all sites. Don't be late!
Please note that we are playing at 4 sites on Monday. The G18s will all be at BROADSTONE RACKET CLUB FOR MONDAY ONLY. The B14s will be moved to RIO DEL ORO for MONDAY. Otherwise, the BG16s will be at Laguna Creek for Monday and Tuesday, and then will move to Rio del Oro for the duration of the event. The BG12-14s will be at Natomas from Monday through Wednesday, and will move to Rio del Oro for the duration of the event. Remember only on Monday will be the G18s play at Broadstone and the B14s at Rio. The sites will be marked on your draws! Please check them carefully. Again you will be responsible for your schedule. Please check in at the site that you are going to be playing at every day.

MAIN TOURNAMENT SITE
Rio del Oro Racquet Club (RIO) will host the 18s Girls/Boys the entire tournament and later rounds of all other divisions from Wednesday or Thursday to the end.

SATELLITE SITES
Laguna Creek Racquet Club (LCRC) will host the 16s (boys/girls) the first 2-3 days of the tournament.
Natomas Racquet Club (NRC) will host the 12s-14s (girls/boys) the first 3-4 days of the tournament. All later rounds will be played at Rio del Oro Racquet Club (RIO).
Broadstone Racquet Club (BRC) may be used for match overflow on the 1st and 2nd day of the tournament.

WITHDRAWALS
Written withdrawals after on-line entry closure will be accepted for illness or injury (medical note required), or personal emergency (stating reason) received prior to the Draw Meeting.Verbal withdrawals are not acceptable. Withdrawals must be in writing to the tournament director stating your name, division, and reason for withdrawal. Phone calls are fine to the tournament director until you have access to a computer but must be followed by an email or fax.
NO refunds will be given based on verbal withdrawals. NO refunds will be given after July 27, 2010, for any reason. Withdrawals should be emailed to the Tournament Director and copied to the Tournament Referee or faxed to: 916-859-5949.

Seedings and Doubles:
Seedings and random pairings of doubles will be done today (7/22/2010). The seeding list will be updated when approved by National. Doubles pairings will now be fixed unless there is a withdrawal. We still need a partner for a player in B12, B14, and G12. Please email the referee and TD if you are interested in playing with these players. We will try to pair all players up until the event plays.

EVENTS
Girls/Boys 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s Singles (mandatory full Feed-In Consolation "FIC" with a playoff for 3rd and 4th place).
Doubles for same divisions as listed for singles (no Consolation, but a playoff for 3rd and 4th). Players may only enter one singles and one doubles event and must play in the same age division for both.
Singles draws limited to 128. Doubles draws limited to 64.
Up to 4 Wild Cards may be used in each draw and will be determined at Tournament Committee's discretion. If you are interested in being considered for a Wild Card position, please email Chrys Atkinson, Tournament Director (chrysa@sparetimeinc.com) with your full name, age division, UTSA number, contact information, and reason you feel you deserve a Wild Card spot.

MATCH FORMAT – SINGLES
Main draw singles (B/G 14-18): Best of 3 Tiebreak sets.
Feed-In Consolation (FIC): Best of 3 sets with 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set.
Main and Feed-In Consolation draw singles (B/G 12 only): Best of 3 tiebreak sets with 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set.
Singles will have a minimum of 1 hour rest time. Players should expect to play 2 singles matches and 1-2 doubles the first day of the tournament (depending on draw sizes & scheduling requirements).
Singles draws will be posted on Wednesday, July 28th.

DOUBLES FORMAT & INFORMATION
Doubles will consist of an 8 game pro set with a 10-point tiebreaker at 8 games all throughout the entire tournament. No consolation for doubles - playoff for 3rd/4th.
Players will have a minimum of 30 minutes rest time between doubles matches.
DOUBLES ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Must sign-up for doubles by on-line registration entry close for singles which is Thursday, July 8, 2010 12 Noon Eastern Time. Players will have one additional week past the entry close (Thursday, July 15, 2010), to designate a doubles partner. If no partner is designated by this deadline the Tournament Committee will randomly pair all individuals into teams. After pairings are made and draw is complete, no changes will be made. If a partner no-shows or withdraws BEFORE play begins in a draw, an alternative will be used (see below).
Players must play doubles in the same age divisions as singles.
Partner requests must be made either at time of entry or via email to Chrys Atkinson, Tournament Director at chrysa@sparetimeinc.com. Put "DOUBLES PARTNER" in the subject line of your email. Body of email must contain your name, division, USTA number, doubles partner name and USTA number if available. Both players must be registered in the tournament and confirm the partner request. No phone calls will be accepted for Doubles Partner designations.
An alternates list for doubles will be managed at the tournament desk on site to fill any no-show, injury withdraws, or late withdraws spots only up until the doubles play begins for the division. Once play has begun in a draw, no changes or additions will be made.
Doubles play will begin on Monday afternoon. Doubles draws will be available by Friday, July 30, 2010 at latest.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
The United States Tennis Association requires a signed medical release covering all entrants in national USTA events. The release must be signed by the entrant and parent or guardian of any entrant who is a minor. Save time at registration and fill out the form ahead of time. If you are traveling without a parent/guardian, have form signed before you leave home. No player will be allowed on court without a signed Medical Release Form.

TOURNAMENT BALLS
Wilson US Open balls will be used. Players will receive new balls at the start of each match and at the beginning of a 3rd set when a full 3rd set is played only. All balls need to be returned to the tournament desk when reporting scores.

DRESS CODE
Proper tennis attire is required at all tournament sites. T-shirts with tennis motifs are acceptable. No marking soled shoes will be allowed on courts.

PIZZA PARTY
A pizza party will be held at each site on Tuesday. The pizza party is free to all tournament players. Detailed information will be available at the on-site tournament desks at each location.

(12s-14s). Designated Level 3 tournament on the National Junior
schedule. Open to all junior players.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, July 8, 2010 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
