I want to thank everyone for playing in the 2009 Eastern Iowa Futures tournament. We had unseasonably cold weather but luckily no rain. I hope everyone had a great tournament and will join us next year in Iowa City for the 2010 Eastern Iowa Futures. Please let me know if there are any loose ends that I may need to tie up now that the tournament has concluded. Singles Draws
Draws will be available on Wednesday July 15th with match times to follow.

Singles Match Times and Check - In Times
Match times will be posted on the draws. Second round match times are tentative based on duration of first round match. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR SITE DIRECTOR FOR MATCH TIME. Most first round matches will be at 1pm on Friday July 17th. You must check in 30 minutes prior to posted match time. Check-in will be at the University of Iowa Klotz Tennis Courts.

Tournament Headquarters and check-in site
University of Iowa Klotz Courts with be the headquarters and you will need to check in here first. Address 2820 Prairie Meadow Dr. Iowa City, IA. Girls 10s and 12s do NOT need to check in here first. They may go directly to North Dodge Athletic Club (2400 N Dodge St, Iowa City, IA 52245.

Doubles Draws & Scoring
Players will be allowed to enter the doubles events at the tournament desk. BE ADVISED DUE TO MISSOURI VALLEY RULES PLAYERS MAY NOT PLAY WITH PARTNERS FROM DIFFERENT AGE DIVISIONS. Please make corrections at the tournament desk. Doubles matches will be played Saturday afternoon. Doubles scoring will be an 8 game pro set with a set tie-breaker at 8 all.

Tournament Start Time
All singles draws will start no earlier then 1pm on Friday the 17th to allow for travel time. Please be advised check in time will be from Noon to 12:30pm.

Tournament Duration
The Eastern Iowa Futures Tournament will normally finish on Sunday July 19th. USTA has the end date as Monday the 20th. If there would be weather complications or a large number of participants in the tournament the extra day would be used, but this has not been the case in the last two years.

Tournament Fees/Confirmation Questions
There is some confusion regarding when fees will be incurred for the futures tournament. USTA will give you a confirmation # but will report $0.00 in the total. Fees will be processed for the tournament once the draws close.

Scoring
Singles matches will be 2 out of 3 sets with a deciding match tie-breaker for the third set. Doubles matches will be an 8 game pro-set.

Inclement Weather
If matches would be forced to be played inside the $14 indoor court cost will be split amongst the players per match.

Seedings
Seedings will be made strictly from the most current Missouri Valley Standings List.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, July 7, 2009 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
