PLAYER CHECK IN
Check in will be available from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 13, at the Jeff Adams Tennis Center. (Registraion will not be availalbe before 5pm.) Players checking in on Friday may go directly to their first match site on Saturday. IF YOU ARE CHEKCING IN ON SATURDAY, YOU MUST CHECK IN AT THE JEFF ADAMS TENNIS CENTER ONE HOUR BEFORE YOUR FIRST MATCH. THAT MEANS 7:00 AM FOR AN 8:00 AM MATCH. Players may proceed directly to all subsequent match sites. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL PLAYERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PLAY UNLESS THEY HAVE CHECKED IN FIRST AT THE JEFF ADAMS TENNIS CENTER. Please be sure to have a signed Medical Release with you for check-in. Late entries and alternates who have not paid their entry fee will be required to submit payment prior to their first match. PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON COURT IF WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A SIGNED MEDICAL RELEASE AND THEIR ENTRY FEE.

DRAWS & MATCH SCHEDULES
Draws and match times are posted online. Throughout the course of the tournament, it is the player's responsibility to verify on-site that their match times/locations are accurate. Schedule changes may be unavoidable due to weather and/or withdrawals.

OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT HOTELS - HYATT PLACE
Hyatt Place Charlotte Airport and Hyatt Place City Park CTA has arranged with Hyatt Place to provide a discounted rate of $79.00 per night (at either location) for all families participating in our tournament. This rate includes continental breakfast. The hotels also provide 24-hour food service, hot breakfast items for purchase, a Starbucks coffee bar and free wireless internet. To receive the discounted rate please ask for the Charlotte Tennis Association block rate when calling to make reservations. Book before Wednesday, November 4 to qualify for this special rate. SEEDING CRITERIA
The CTA Tournament Seeding Committee will follow the guidelines below issued by USTA Southern, effective January 2009. This was based on the Selection List received from the Southern Tennis Association, November 5.
Seeding shall be done using only the results from most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list. Definition of Most Recently Published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists: Southern Level 3 * Published List used for Selections * tournament start. In addition to the list, other criteria to consider: Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of any younger age division. Players with current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding.

ALTERNATES
Alternates By Event report will be updated daily. Contact us immediately if you find that you are unable to attend, so other alternates can move up. It is the alternates' responsibility to check the website to determine if your alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to contact you if you are accepted into the draw. Make sure that your USTA membership profile, especially contact phone numbers and email addresses, is correct so that we may contact you. The tournament will not be responsible for a player not selected, in the event the tournament cannot contact him/her due to incorrect or outdated contact information. ONCE SELECTED FOR PLAY, PAYMENT IS DUE IMMEDIATELY. PLAYERS WHO HAVE NOT PAID THEIR ENTRY FEE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE COURTS. IF ALTERNATES WITHDRAW AFTER BEING ACCEPTED INTO THE DRAW, THEY ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR ENTRY FEE PAYMENT.

ALTERNATES ON SITE
On-Site Alternates should report to the Tournament Desk at Jeff Adams Tennis Center at least one hour before their age/gender group is scheduled to play. On-Site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List. Again, if selected to play, payment is due immediately.

WITHDRAWALS
All withdrawals after entries close must both be sent in writing by e-mail to tournaments@charlottetennisassociation.com and by phone to tournament director (704-995-3091 ) once the tournament has started. Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be refunded the entry fee.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
The Medical Release Form is required by USTA Southern Section. The Medical Release must be signed by a parent or guardian. Please be sure to provide a telephone number where you can be reachded during the tournament. A signed form is extremely important in the event your child may need emergency medical assistance and you are not at the court site. Please download and bring with you to registration otherwise the form must be completed at registration. No player will be allowed on court without this form. 7030 Nations Ford Road, Charlotte: From Jeff Adams, turn left out of the parking lot onto Tyvola Road. Turn right at the third traffic light onto Nations Ford Road. WHS will be approximately 1/4 mile on the right. The courts are on the right as you enter the parking lot. PRACTICE COURTS
Practice Courts are available at Carmel Road Park and Freedom Park. Carmel Road Park: 2350 Carmel Road: From Jeff Adams, turn left out of the parking lot onto Tyvola Road. Follow Tyvola (over I-77). Tyvola will change names to Fairview. Continue on Fairview. Turn right onto Carmel Road. Park is on the right half mile after the first light. Freedom Park: From Jeff Adams, turn left out of the parking lot onto Tyvola Road. At the first light, turn left onto Tryon Street (NC 49). At the 2nd light, turn right onto Woodlawn Road. At the 7th light, turn left onto Selwyn Avenue. Go to the 2nd light and turn left onto Queens Road West. Go to the first light and turn left onto East Blvd. The entrance to the park will be on your left immediately over the bridge. Go to the stop sign and turn right. The courts are at the end of the drive.

FORMAT & SCORING
All draws will have Full Feed in through Quarters and 3/4 Playoff. Scoring for the main draw will be the best of three sets except Boys and Girls 10s will play best of three sets with a 10-point match tie-break in lieu of the third set. Scoring for the Feed In will be the best of three sets with a 10-point match tie-break in lieu of the third set. Alternate scoring, No-AD scoring, or Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set may be used for all matches in the event of inclement weather.

AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the winner, finalist, third place, fourth place in all events and winners and finalists in the Feed In.

TRAINER
There will be a trainer available at the Jeff Adams Tennis Center beginning Saturday morning through the completion of matches on Monday.

STRINGER
A stringer will be available at Jeff Adams Tennis Center. Schedule and fees to be announced.
|
|
TENNIS BALLS
The tournament will be played with USTA approved Wilson tennis balls.

GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY
Players are allowed to enter two age divisions in Southern L3 tournaments, within these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected in the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either division would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in from the alternates list. They would be removed from the Alternates list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

SELECTION PROCESS
Draws will be limited to 32. The top 32 players applying will be selected by the Southern Section office, from the latest USTA/Southern standing list -- 28 players from the age group will be selected and up to 4 players from the younger age group that have a top 40 standing and are not in the selected 28.

ENTRY VIOLATION
Entering two tournaments at the same time is a violation of the USTA rules in the USTA Southern Section, and players may be assessed five (5) junior suspension points for violation of this rule. In "Friend at Court," USTA Tournament Regulation 1 N. 11 & 12 states: 11. "A player shall not enter two tournaments at the same time. When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournaments are scheduled to overlap unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing." 12. "A player shall not enter a tournament intending to withdraw if the player’s entry is accepted in another tournament. A player shall not enter a tournament with the intention of withdrawing if the player’s entry is accepted in another tournament, unless the Tournament Committee for the tournament in which the player has entered understands the situation and concurs with the contemplated action." If a player on the Alternate list wants to enter a different tournament, he/she must withdraw from this tournament before entering another one.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament. If you enter this tournament and are not eligible, any refund is as the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only USTA members can register online if available.
