Courts are dry and we are on schedule for morning matches. Please consult the message below regarding amended schedule for a few matches due to the rain on Friday at the end of the day.

If your match is not listed here then your time is the same as the original time on the draw sheets. We have 5 matches that were suspended due to the rain. We have 3 doubles matches that did not start due to the rain. The doubles will be played later in the afternoon. Original doubles times will take precedence with the rain out doubles matches scheduled as possible. The five singles matches that were suspended need to show up to play at 8 am. They include the following players:Ryan Moxley, Christian Lampe, Thomas Gravitt, Matthew Kessler, Avery Ebert, Tanner Bost, Luke Haynes, Mitch Kessler, Nicholas Sperra and Aston Johnson. The following players matches will not start before the time by their name here:William Tucker(10:00 am), Timothy Church(9:30 am) and Grant Smith(9:30 am). Thanks for your patience and once again if you are not listed here then your match will be at your originally scheduled time.

2:00 pm matches have been postponed until 2:30 pm. All other match times are on as scheduled. For other updates you may also call the Pro Shop at (336)727-2137. All changes due to weather will be updated at the Pro Shop number. Please only call the Pro Shop for weather questions.

We have scheduled the tournament so that we will not have play on Easter Sunday. This means that we must play 2 rounds of singles for all draws with more than 8 players in that draw. The earliest matches are scheduled for 2 pm on Friday. We have done this since schools are out for most on Good Friday. We had to choose between playing on Good Friday or Easter Sunday.

The entry deadline has been extended until Monday, April 6th. We would like to offer this futures tournament so if you are deciding to enter then please do (and tell a friend to as well). Thanks! We will play the bulk of the tournament on Saturday. We will play on Friday night and then Sunday afternoon as our last alternative. We are trying to avoid playing on Easter Sunday and wil only play on Sunday in the afternoon.

All age groups except 8 and under Quickstart will play 2 out of 3 sets with a tiebreaker in leau of the third set. 8 and under Quickstart will play best 2 out of 3 games to seven(win by one point).

The tournament has secured a special tournament hotel rate with the Hawthorne Inn. When calling please identify yourself as a Randy Pate Tennis Academy Futures player. The rate is $75 per night plus taxes. We are very appreciative to have the Hawthorne Inn as a part of our tournament and feel that the hotel quality and location will help our event. Our tournament will be one of the first sanctioned 8 and under Quickstart Sanctioned Tournaments in NC. Players will need to be current USTA members. Play will be held on 36 foot courts with the level 1 Red Ball(Foam). We will add the sign up process to this website over the next few days. Quickstart Tennis is designed to help juniors PLAY tennis more successfully at a younger age through court sizes and equipment sizes that are made for their age. This is similar to youth basketball players playing on a smaller court with a lower goal and smaller ball. If you have further questions please call the Hanes Park Pro Shop at (336)727-2137.

The 8 and under Quickdraw tournament will be held from Noon to 3 pm on Saturday. This event will be coed(boys and girls in the same group). The draw will be limited to the first 16 players that sign up. You must enter online through USTA Tennislink. No phone entries allowed. The fee is $13 and players are gauranteed 3 matches. For USTA membership please call 800-990-8782. Players must be 8 years of age or younger. You are too old if you turn 9 years old in April.
