Due to the high number of matches that were not played in this tournament we will be changing the refund policy. Normally (as listed below) we refund 50% of the entry fee for a tournament. In this case we will refund or credit you 70% of your entry fee. Again, please e-mail Michael@sunsethillstennis.com and let us know if you would like a refund or a credit toward a future event. Please include your mailing address if you would like a refund. We have just had another heavy rain on the courts and all match play is cancelled. Thanks to everyone who came out this morning to help dry the courts, we got very close to play but due to the flooding rains we are cancelling the events. If you did not play a match you have a choice of: 1. A 50% refund of your entry fee paid by check, all checks will be mailed with 10 days. 2. We will give a 50% credit toward your next tournament at Sunset Hills within the next 12 month. If no more rain falls we are still planning to start play at 11:00am Please check your draws, matches without times listed will not be played due to all the weather delays. All efforts are being made to have the draws finish as far as possible. Please check back here before you leave your house for any further information.

There is rain falling again this morning in Carrollton. WE ARE ON A THREE HOUR RAIN DELAY, ALL TIMES HAVE BEEN UPDATED ON THE DRAW AND ARE CORRECT. No matches will be played before 11am. I will post another update at 9:00am this morning. Here is the plan for the day: If we can get play going we will be using more that one site for match play to complete the tournament as far as possible. In accordance wtih USTA Georgia policy we can't cancel the tournament until 12:00 even if it looks like and all day rainout like we had yesterday. PLEASE read the last note about the Sunday schedule for information on the format of play for today's matches.

The draws are now posted for Sunday play, a few notes: The schedule is very tight and we will not be able to work around any time requests. Scoring format: We will be using short sets to complete the tournament with no-add scoring, this is used to speed play and allow for the tournament to complete as far as possible. A short set is the same as a normal set except all sets begin with a score of 2-2, this along with no-add scoring should allow us to complete the tournament if we have dry weather. Any questions about short sets and/or no-add scoring should be directed to the tournament referee or tournament director. A STRICT 5 minute warm up will be enforced in all matches. Boys 18's, 16's, 14's, and Girls 18's consolation brackets have no time listed on the consolation final. In accordance with USTA Georgia rules no more than three matches per day may be played in singles. We will have to watch the draws develop to see if these finals can be played and match times will be set then. It looks like the boys would go at 6:30 and the girls 7:30 if these matches can be played. We will make this determination as soon as the draw allows on Sunday. A Sunday weather update will be posted here by 6:00am.

ALL PLAY FOR SATURDAY HAS BEEN CANCELLED. We will begin work on rescheduling all matches for Sunday and will play all draws as far as possible. All draws will be up by 8:00pm tonight. Please check your draw for your Sunday time.

It is still raining on the courts in Carrollton. We are trying to get in a few matches today so some of the larger division will be able to complete tomorrow. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DRAW. ALL SATURDAY MATCH TIMES ARE CORRECT. If you have a 9:00pm match tonight PLEASE try to check in early so we can get you on as early as possible. If you do not see a time for your match is will be scheduled for Sunday play. Sunday draws will be posted by 8:00pm tonight. I will post another update at 4:30, if at that time the rain has not stopped or is very close we will cancel play for today and try again tomorrow.

The rain continues to fall on the courts. We have re-worked the draws again to follow all USTA regulations and have posted them with new match times for Saturday. If you don't see a time listed for your match it will be played on Sunday. All Sunday times will be posted tonight after we see if we are able to get in any tennis today. I will post another update about the fate of Saturday at 3:00pm ATTENTION BOYS 14'S PLAYERS: i WILL DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO GET THE FIRST ROUND OF PLAY IN TODAY. THESE MATCHES MAY BE MOVED TO AN EVENING START TO GET THEM PLAYED. THEY MUST BE PLAYED TODAY IN ORDER TO FINISH THE TOURNAMENT THROUGH THE FINALS.

We are now under a two hour rain delay. All match times have been updated on the draws. There is a large mass of rain just to our west and further delays may be possible. Please check back here for more information before leaving for the courts.

I know that all you parents and players are worries about the rain in the forecast. Please check back here at 6:00am for a weather update. I will list the conditions and any delays if necessary. Friday matches are underway on dry courts. As on now we are on court and on time.

from atlanta: (approximately 50 miles) travel i-20 west to exit 24 (hwy. 61)-at the traffic light turn left and go across the bridge onto hwy. 61 south. travel approximately 12 miles to the intersection of hwy. 61 & 166 by pass - turn left on the 166 by pass at the traffic light. (this is 166 west, past the movie theater,ford dealership, and longhorn steakhouse, not 166 east which you will pass first) travel approximately 6 miles on the 166 by pass till it dead ends into maple street – at the traffic light turn right onto maple street – travel approximately 1 mile on maple street – turn right onto club drive at the sunset hills country club sign. (across from the university of west georgia). continue traveling on club drive to the stop sign - turn right at the stop sign onto west club drive - the club house is on the left.

In the unlikely event that the entire tournament is rained out meaning that you do not play a single point. 1) We will offer you a fifty percent (50%) discount off your entry fee into any other tournament hosted by Sunset Hills Country Club within a 12-month calendar period or 2) we will refund fifty percent (50%) of your entry fee, by check. If you wish to receive the discount for a future tournament, simply email us to enter the future tournament, DO NOT ENTER ON-LINE, and we will manually enter you at the discounted rate.
