It is now 3:00pm and the radar shows several more hours of rain. DUE TO THE WEATHER THE TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Thanks to everyone who came out to play. If you paid your entry fee but never played a match you will have a credit of $15.00 toward the next USTA event you play at Sunset Hills. To use your credit you must e-mail me at Michael@sunsethillstennis.com to sign up, DO NOT sign up on-line or the tennislink system will charge you at full rate. Players who did not get their tournament shirt may pick one up at the pro shop.

Any round or match without a match time listed will not be played. We have made the decision not to start any matches after 9:00pm as our players have school tomorrow. The rain is now steady and has soaked the courts. We are now on a THREE HOUR DELAY. All match times have been updated on the draw and are correct. Please check back for any further delays.

The schedule for Sunday play is now posted. Please check your time carefully. All matches that were scheduled for Sunday have changed. CHANGES FOR SUNDAY: Due to the loss of Saturday to the rain we are using two short sets and a 10 point tie-break if you split. A short set is a normal set to 6 games BUT each set begins at 2-2. No add scoring: If the game reaches deuce the next point wins the game. A strict 5 minute warm-up limit will be enforced before each match. This all being done to try to complete as much tennis as possible on Sunday. If you have any questions please see the tournament director or referee before your match begins.

The rain continues to fall in Carrollton, this is bad for our tournament but on the bright side the golf course looks great! WE ARE NOW ON AN EIGHT HOUR RAIN DELAY. ALL TIMES HAVE BEEN UPDATED ON THE DRAWS. TWO OF THE BOYS 16'S MATCH TIMES HAVE CHANGED, PLEASE CHECK YOUR TIME! If your match does not have a time listed it will not be played today but will be moved to Sunday. We are working on the Sunday schedule and will post it as soon as we can. Well, we had the courts almost dry but the rain has started again. The radar look like we are about to have a large band of rain in Carrollton. WE ARE NOW ON A SIX HOUR RAIN DELAY, PLEASE CHECK YOUR DRAW, ALL MATCH TIMES HAVE BEEN UPDATED AND SHOW THE DELAY. Some of the later matches will be rescheduled to Sunday. from atlanta: (approximately 50 miles) travel i-20 west to exit 24 (hwy. 61)-at the traffic light turn left and go across the bridge onto hwy. 61 south. travel approximately 12 miles to the intersection of hwy. 61 & 166 by pass - turn left on the 166 by pass at the traffic light. (this is 166 west, past the movie theater,ford dealership, and longhorn steakhouse, not 166 east which you will pass first) travel approximately 6 miles on the 166 by pass till it dead ends into maple street – at the traffic light turn right onto maple street – travel approximately 1 mile on maple street – turn right onto club drive at the sunset hills country club sign. (across from the university of west georgia). continue traveling on club drive to the stop sign - turn right at the stop sign onto west club drive - the club house is on the left.

In the unlikely event that the entire tournament is rained out (meaning that no match is able to play a single point), then we offer the following options for our players. 1) We will offer you a fifty percent (50%) discount off your entry fee into any other tournament hosted by Sunset Hills Country Club within a 12-month calendar period or 2) we will refund one half (1/2) of your entry fee, by check. If you wish to receive the discount for a future tournament, simply email us to enter the future tournament, DO NOT ENTER ON-LINE, and we will manually enter you at the discounted rate. We appreciate your understanding that tournaments have numerous fixed costs prior to every tournament and during the delays incurred by inclement weather, including but not limited to t-shirts, trophies, usta fees, and staff. If you signed up on-line the tennislink fee was added by the USTA and is non-refundable ($3.00).
