SUNSET HILLS C.C. JR SPRING FLING SATELLITE - GA LEVEL 5 - TOURNAMENT CANCELLED-WEATHER

It's now 12:00 on Sunday and the tournament has been cancelled due to the rain. Thanks to everyone for their patience during this wet weekend. Players can drop by the pro shop anytime in the next 30 days and pick up their tournament shirts. PLEASE SEE THE RAIN OUT POLICY LISTED IN THE PARAGRAPH BELOW. If you would like a refund by check sent to you please e-mail me at Michael@sunsthillstennis.com with the details including your name and address for the check, we have most of this information already but all we have is your child’s name, please send your name for the check. All refunds will be mailed none will be available at the tennis shop. Requests for refunds must be made by 3/22/09, after that date we will assume you would like a credit toward a future event. In the unlikely event that the entire tournament is rained out (meaning that no match is able to play a single point), then we offer the following options for our players. 1) We will offer you a fifty percent (50%) discount off your entry fee into any other tournament hosted by Sunset Hills Country Club within a 12-month calendar period or 2) we will refund one half (1/2) of your entry fee, by check. If you wish to receive the discount for a future tournament, simply email us to enter the future tournament, DO NOT ENTER ON-LINE, and we will manually enter you at the discounted rate. We appreciate your understanding that tournaments have numerous fixed costs prior to every tournament and during the delays incurred by inclement weather, including but not limited to t-shirts, trophies, usta fees, and staff. Your refund/credit for this event will be $15.00, if you signed up on-line the tennislink fee was added by the USTA and is non-refundable ($3.00).

The rain delay has been extended to 6 hours. We will make a decision about the fate of the tournament at 12:00, if we have to cancell we will do so at that time. Please check back at 12:00. All matche times have been updated on the draws. No matches will be played before 2:00pm.

It is now 8:00am and still raining. The radar shows more rain back into Alabama. We are extending the delay to 5 hours. All match times on the draw have been updated. We will try to play as much tennis as we can today but it will be very difficult to complete the entire event. Please check back here at 11:00am for another update. If we have to cancel the tournament we can't do so before 12:00 by USTA rules.

It is now 6:00am on Sunday morning and we have rain falling again on the courts. We are on a 3 hour rain delay. Check back at 8:00am for anohter update. This delay will cause some of the match times to change. Please check back at 8:00am as we will need to adjust the schedule to allow for the delay

In order to complete as many of the draws as possible, scoring format is changed as follows: EACH SET BEGINS AT A SCORE OF 2-2 ( except the 3rd set, which is a 10 pt tiebreak )

Boys 10's, Girls 10's and Girls 12's will be played on Clay Courts due to the rain delay from yesterday.

It's now Saturday at 3:30. All matches have been rescheduled to Sunday. We will be using a different scoring format and some matches have been moved to clay. PLEASE READ ALL TEXT IN RED BELOW. Everyone cross your fingers for dry weather tomorrow!

All matches have been rescheduled for Sunday. Matches will begin at 8:00am, we are not happy about this either but due to the rain Saturday we had no choice. 10:00am Saturday - Rain delay:We are now under a 5 hour rain delay. The rain is falling and shows no sign up stopping any time soon.   Five hours have been added to your match time, all time on the draws have been updated. Any match listed as starting past 8:00pm will be moved to Sunday . We have several divisions that have four players. Normally we would use a round robin format to allow each player to have the maximum numrber of matches over the weekend. However, with the rain forecast we have decided to stay with the normal MFIC format to try to ensure that the event will be able to complete in the event of extended rain.

from atlanta: (approximately 50 miles) travel i-20 west to exit 24 (hwy. 61)-at the traffic light turn left and go across the bridge onto hwy. 61 south. travel approximately 12 miles to the intersection of hwy. 61 & 166 by pass - turn left on the 166 by pass at the traffic light. (this is 166 west, past the movie theater,ford dealership, and longhorn steakhouse, not 166 east which you will pass first) travel approximately 6 miles on the 166 by pass till it dead ends into maple street – at the traffic light turn right onto maple street – travel approximately 1 mile on maple street – turn right onto club drive at the sunset hills country club sign. (across from the university of west georgia). continue traveling on club drive to the stop sign - turn right at the stop sign onto west club drive - the club house is on the left.
