Regretfully the Southern St has been cancelled and will not be resccheduled
Dear Players and Parents
After considerable discussions with GTA and STA it has been decided that the appropriate thing to do is to cancel the tournament. There was not a date that could accommodate everyone and it would also set a precedent that could not be duplicated for other tournaments.
Next STA level 3 tournament in Augusta: September 5-7, 2009.
This pertains to all players that were in the draw as of Saturday morning March 14th.
Refunds: All Players will receive a partial refund of $33.00 unless you choose to accept credit for entering the Papa John’s GeorgiaLina Jr. Tennis Championships September 5-7. If you decide to enter this tournament you will be credited your full entry fee. This tournament is the only tournament to which the credit may be applied and is a STA level 3 tournament. This will require you to enter by e-mailing the Tournament Director rhatfield@augustaga.gov .
For Players that withdrew before Friday March 13th at 3 PM we are following the tournament refund policy. No refunds are made when players withdraw after the draw has been made.
In order to keep this as simple as possible we will use the following procedure: Players that choose to accept credit and enter the September 5-7, 2009 tournament will have until April 20, 2009 to notify the TD of their intent. You will be added to the tournament at that time and will not need to enter online. As of April 21 all players that have not notified the TD will have a partial refund processed. Players that choose to enter the September tournament and are not selected will be issued a partial refund after the tournament. Also if you plan on playing doubles in the September tournament you will not enter online but at the tournament.
This does not preclude you from accepting a refund and entering the September tournament at a later date.
|
Refund Policy
If players withdraw from the tournament prior to the draws being made they will receive a full refund. If players withdraw from the tournament after the draws are made regardless of whether the tournament is completed there will not be a refund granted.
|
Withdrawing from tournament on Friday
Withdraws received after 3pm will not be removed from the draw.

Seeding
Tentative Seeding has been completed. We used the criteria specified by STA. Seeding was initially based on the STA age group standings as of 1/7/2009. Players that are playing up that were unseeded and are ranked in the top 10 in the STA and top 50 Nationally in the lower age group were considered for seeding. Additional consideration for these players from the lower division was given to head to head wins against this tournament's seeded players.
