Getting Started
|
|
Traffic
Lately there has been construction on I-76 and Route 1 that can cause delays. For traffic information listen to KYW 1060 AM which gives traffic updates every ten minutes on the "twos".

Registration
When you first arrive at GCC please come to the Registration Desk (under the big tree by the grass courts) to sign in, get important tournament information, pay your entry fee (if you haven't done so already) get your Tournament Gift and fill out your Q accouting form (if you wish to set up an account to make purchases at the club while you are here). The registration desk will be open:
Saturday the 22nd : From 1.30 - 4.30 pm
Sunday the 23rd : From 11.30 am - 2.30 pm
Monday the 24th : From 9.00 am - 10.30 am
If you are scheduled to play your first round at another venue we prefer that you come to GCC first to register, however if this is not possible please come after your first round match.

Practice Courts
Beginning Monday morning limited practice courts will be available beginning approximately 9.30 am (conditions permitting) and will also be available throughout the day. Courts are given out on a first come first serve basis and there are no advance court reservations. GCC members are always given priority over tournament players when signing up for courts.

Tennis Attire and Footwear
All white tennis attire is required. Modest colour trim is accepted. This rule applies to shoes, socks, hats, warm-ups and any other attire worn on the court. Tennis specific shoes are required. Soles must have a flat surface and may not have anything protruding from the soles. Grass court, clay court, cross training or running specific shoes are not permitted. All players will be subject to a shoe check prior to each match. Players found to be wearing incorrect footwear risk default from their match.

Match Format
Main draw matches will be best of three Tiebreak sets. Consolation matches will be best of three Tiebreak sets with a 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set (approved by the Adult Senior Competition Committee).

General Information
Inclement Weather In the event of inclement weather we will do everything possible to keep the tournament running on schedule. If it becomes necessary to move matches to indoor venues players may be assessed a small fee per match to help cover court costs. During inclement weather my personal voicemail will be updated with any necessary messages. 215 438 9900 x118.

Refunds
No refunds will be issued after close of entries. Any request for a refund prior to the close of entries must be submitted in writing.

2 Event Maximum
Players are limited to 2 events.

Other venues
Tournament Matches may be played at other sites. Please double check the site of your match on the draw.

|
Tournament Dinner
The Player Dinner will be held on Tuesday August 25th, at 6.30pm. Dress is casual.

Special rates have been arranged for tournament players at the Marriot Philadelphia Downtown, approximately 15 minutes from GCC. This is a great hotel located in the city centre with great access to shopping, dining and entertainment. Room rates are $139 per night single / double plus taxes. The ACE Center
Special rates have been arranged at the ACE Center, located approximately 15 minutes from GCC in Lafayette Hill. The ACE Center has fantastic amenities (including tennis courts, outdoor sundeck, racquetball, croquet, bocci, exercise room, jogging path, volleyball) and rates include a continental breakfast each day. When booking your room please reference The Germantown Cricket Club. Rates per room are as follows: Single Occupancy $79, Double $85, Triple $91, Quad $97. All rates are per room, per night. About Us
The Germantown Cricket Club is located approximately 15 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. Our facilities include 45 tennis courts (24 grass), swimming pool, squash, fitness, bowling, cricket and beautiful dining facilities located within our historic clubhouse.
