First Match Report

Purpose of Tournament
These Rising Stars events are designed to introduce players to competitive tennis. The emphasis is on match play, fun, and the education of the parents as well as the players.
|
|
Mandatory meeting
There will be a mandatory meeting for all players and parents at 8:30 AM prior to match play at the Caughman Road Tennis Center.
|
|
USTA Membership
USTA Membership is required to enter tournament.
|
|
Match Format
This is a one day event. There will be multiple matches in a round robin format for novice boys and girls ages 8-18 years of age. The referee reserves the right to determine the number of games played in the round robin format
|
|
USTA RULES
USTA Rules will be in effect.
|
|
Alternate Sites
Alternate sites may be used depending on the size of the draws.
|
|
Alternate Scoring
The referee reserves the right to use alternate scoring and alternate sites if he/or she deams necessary.
|
|
POINT PENALTY SYSTEM
The Point Penalty System will be in effect.
|
|
AWARDS
Awards will be presented to all champions and finalist
|
|
AMENITIES
All players will receive a tournament gift. Lunch will be provided for all players.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
In case of inclement weather, the tournament will be played Sunday-April 26 2009. Play will be begin at 1:30 PM. Please call (803-788-3001) if you are unsure about the weather.

Directions to CRTC coming in on I-26 Westbound from Charleston Take I-77 North toward Charlotte. Take Garners Ferry Road toward Sumter. Drive approximately 3.2 miles to Trotter Road. Turn left. The Caughman Road Tennis Center (CRTC) is one mile up on the left.

Eastbound from Spartanburg/Greenville follow I-26 toward Charleston. Take I-77 north toward Charlotte. Take the Garners Ferry Road exit toward Sumter. Drive approximately 3.2 miles to Trotter Road. Turn left onto Trotter Road. The Caughman Road Tennis Center is one mile up on the left.

Take I-26 #64A toward Columbia. Get over one lane and follow I-26 toward Charleston. Take I-77 north toward Charlotte. Take the Garners Ferry Road exit toward Sumter. Drive approximately 3.2 miles to Trotter Road. Turn left onto Trotter Road. The Caughman Road Tennis Center is one mile up on the left.

Take Exit 76A (Charlotte/Charleston exit). Follow I-77 South toward Charleston. Take the Garners Ferry Road exit toward Sumter. Drive approximately 3.2 miles to Trotter Road. Turn left onto Trotter Road. The Caughman Road Tennis Center is one mile up on the left.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament. If you enter this tournament and are not eligible, any refund is as the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only USTA members can register online if available.
