Texas Participant Consent Form and bring with you to your first match.
This signed form is now required, and you must turn it in to the site
director before you can participate in the tournament. For minors, the form
must be signed by a parent or guardian. No modification of the form is

NO WATER ON COURT.
Players will need to bring water to court. At ATC, cups are available in the proshop, and we have a large commercial ice machine and water fountain with jug spout, out on the northwest patio. Players may also purchase water, fountain drinks, sports drinks, etc. in the proshop. Players will need to bring water jugs and any other drinks with them to all other sites.

PLAYER CHECK IN
Players must check themselves in for each match, 30 minutes prior to posted match time. Parents and Coaches cannot check players in.

DRAWS
Draws will be posted, Tuesday, November 3. It is the player's responsibility to check draws and know match times and match sites. Lateness penalties and defaults will be enforced.

FORMATS
Singles only.
Boys and girls, 12-18 play two, tie break sets, no ad scoring. A ten point match tie break will be played in the event that a match splits, rather than a third set. A two minute set break is between second set and match tie break. There are no 10 minute set breaks.
Boys and girls, 10's will play an 8 game pro set, with a regular tie break at 8-all.
All divisions are "first match loser" consolation. Each player will play two matches before being eliminated.

AWARDS
Medals are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and Consolation. 10's division each recieve a certificate of participation. One player will recieve a "Sportmanship Award" for showing good sportsmanship both on and off the court. The award is a scholarship for a camp at "John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch.

POINT INFORMATION
This information is available through "Junior Know the Rules". Please direct questions regarding points to the Texas Section, not tournament personnel or officials.

ROVING OFFICIALS
At least one USTA certified official will be at each site.
|
|
GRACE PERIODS AND THE POINT PENALTY SYSTEM
The USTA Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced. There are no "grace periods". Players must be present at the scheduled match time for each match.

WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURE AND PENALTIES
PLAYERS WHO ARE WITHDRAWING MUST DO SO IN WRITING VIA EMAIL TO: arlingtontennis@yahoo.com. A valid reason must be specified. Please let the tournament know as early as possible. Players may receive penalties if they withdraw after the registration deadline, October 25, and after the draws are posted. Players that do not show up for matches (all rounds) will also receive penalty points. No refunds after the October 25 deadline, nor if the tournament is canceled due to weather.

TENNIS ATTIRE
All players and spectators are asked to wear traditional tennis attire appropriate for a family tennis enviornment. This includes no bare stomachs/abdomens and shorts/skirts should be an appropriate length as well.

OTHER INFORMATION
Spectators are not allowed on court at any time. No pets are allowed in the proshop or fenced area around the courts. Smoking is not allowed in the proshop or fenced areas. Alcohol is prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, October 25, 2009 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
