Dinner with Band Friday Night at The Courtyard 6:00 p.m. poolside
Players: Friday night beginning at 6:00 pm (most tournament play should be completed by this time) we will have a catered Texas BBQ served by Pok-e-Jo's BBQ, my personal favorite :-) The event will be held poolside at The Courtyard from 6:00 -9:00 p.m. (see site directions on this homepage to Courtyard). We also have a local band, Voyces, who will be serenading us with their music and of course dancing is in order should the mood strike. There will be great food, beer, fun, and fellowship bringing you a cheery WELCOME TO THE CHAMPIONSHIPS evening. We hope all Championship players will attend. For those of you with spouses or significant others who would like to attend, they may do so and eat but there will be a fee of $15 per non-tournament playing guest. See you very soon at THE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

RE-CHECK YOUR DRAWS OFTEN, ONCE PUBLISHED 11/8/09 6:30 P.M.
Players: Please be sure to re-check your draws often and check the times for each round of your round robin. In some cases round 2 may be scheduled before round 1, or round 3 scheduled before round 2 etc This was necessary because of the numerous scheduling conflicts with players in more than one event.
We also are receiving withdrawals and as I move the next highest ranked player into your event, the match times may have to change to accommodate the new player(s) as they may be playing in another Masters tournament event.

Directions to Sites
THE COURTYARD TENNIS AND SWIM CLUB: (Shown as CYTC on draws) 512 345-4700
5608 Courtyard Dr., Austin, TX 78731 From Hwy 183 North at the Arboretum.....Take Capital of Texas Highway South (also known as Hwy 360) to the street just BEFORE you pass over the large Lake Austin suspension bridge. This street is Courtyard Dr. Take a left onto Courtyard Dr. Take another immediate left onto Scout Island and follow to street inlet just before the silver fire hydrant. Take a right on inlet, which leads to the site's parking area.
ST. STEPHEN'S TENNIS ACADEMY: (Shown as SS on draws) (512 468-5440) 2900 Bunny Run, Austin, TX 78746 (Best to follow these directions vs. GPS)...From Hwy 183 North at the Arboretum....Take Capital of Texas Highway heading south (also known as Hwy 360). You will drive over the Lake Austin RED suspension bridge. Go about 1/2 mile and take a right onto WESTLAKE DRIVE. Follow road as it winds around to apartment complexes. (Do NOT follow the road to the right onto Royal Approach or you'll reach a dead end.) As you follow Westlake Dr. by the apartment complex, you will come to a road on the right with a guard station...take a right here (no known street name to me at least). Follow this road straight which will merge onto Bunny Run (only way you can go is slight left). Follow Bunny Run straight ahead until you see parking lot which is directly behind the gymnasium with a track on your left in front of the buildings. You MUST, MUST, MUST park at the gym and walk up to the courts. Please DO NOT give the guard at the guard station a hard time about parking. We are VERY FORTUNATE to have access to this private site and don't want to lose the privilege for future tourneys. It is a short hike up a small hill with your tennis belongings so come fully prepared and leave nothing behind. BRING YOUR OWN WATER. They don't have staff to provide water on court. You won't want to make the trek often. However, you'll soon arrive to one of Austin's most beautiful tennis centers with great viewing for spectators.LAKEWAY WORLD OF TENNIS LKWY on draws Lakeway One World of Tennis Square Lakeway, Tx 78738 Telephone: 261-7222 From RR 620 turn west on to Lakeway Blvd. Continue on Lakeway Blvd., past the first traffic signal (Exxon Station on the corner) and on through the three-way stop. Approximately 1.25 miles past the three-way stop, turn left onto Hills Drive (at Lakeway Swim Center Park sign). Take the first right onto Trophy Drive and go straight to the World of Tennis parking lot.
DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT...IT IS VERY PATROLED.

WHAT TO DO IF THE TOURNAMENT HAS INCLEMENT WEATHER :-(
While rain is not currently in the forecast for our 2009 Masters tourney, this information will help you in the event it does occur. I routinely (every 45 minutes to 1 hour) update this website with details about rain delays, and when play is anticipated to resume. If you do not have internet access readily available to you, your hotels generally do in their business centers. Please use their internet services to access our tournament homepage to look for answers with regard to rain delays, if we have any. This will help you know when to return to your site for match play and help the tournament run more smoothly by reducing unnecessary phone calls. You may also call the CATA office for updates at 512 443-1342. Our office voice mail will have updates for your as well. However, this is more difficult to stay on top of so your most up-to-date info can be found by using our tourney homepage.

2009 RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Top 8 ranked players from each division will be selected
based on the 2009 Selection List rankings. This list will
include the prior 12 months calculated to include the adult
sanctioned tournaments played Sept. 16, 2008 through Sept. 14, 2009

Adult Masters Championships tournament and excluding the 2008

to Hurricane), but will include the 2009 Texas Adult Sectionals

3. If there is a tie in points, it will be broken first by
head-to-head play,
second, by the best win/loss ratio of matches actually
played,
third, by the highest point win in a single tournament.
The Tournament Committee shall then use a random drawing among the
remaining tied players to determine their order of entry.
4. Doubles are ranked individually and the top 8 players
(who enter) can pick and choose a partner. That chosen partner must
have played in at least 1 Texas Section sanctioned tournament
within the 12 month ranking year and played the level in which they
are entering/have entered. However, they are not required to have
played with that partner in a Texas Section sanctioned tournament.

must have a Year End Rating to be eligible for this
tournament.
6. The Open divisions will no longer have prize money.

in the singles divisions and "best 4" tournament results in the
