Winter Southern Closed Championships

Practice courts will be available all day at The Tennis Club at Springhurst on December 26th for a cost of $20.00 per hour per court. These courts MUST be booked in advance by calling (502) 412-2950. Please specify that you are with the tournament.

During tournament play, The Tennis Club at Springhurst will be open at 6:30am each day of the tournament. We will have 8 courts reserved for tournament warmup and practice starting at 6:30am. We will have times available from 6:30-7:00, 7:00-7:30am, and 7:30-8:00am. Due to the limited practice courts, the warmups will be 4 players per court for $3.00 each. You must reserve your spots and PAY IN ADVANCE for the morning warmup times. We will only allow coaches and/or parents to take a spot on the court if space allows.

All alternate sites will be open by 7:30am each day of the matches. There will be NO ADVANCE booking of warmup courts at alternate sites.

ALL PLAYERS MUST REGISTER AT THE TENNIS CLUB AT SPRINGHURST PRIOR TO PLAY REGARDLESS OF SITE

CHECK IN will be at The Tennis Club at Springhurst Saturday, Dec. 26th from 4:00-8:00pm. This check in is for all players but is not mandatory. If you are in town, we suggest that you register during this time to prevent delays on Saturday.

If you are arriving on Sunday, Dec. 27th, you may register at The Tennis Club at Springhurst starting at 7:00am.

You WILL NOT be allowed to play unless you have registered at Springhurst.

All players must have a completed Medical Release form prior to play. Please click on the Tournament Reports - Medical Release Form at the top of the page, print and fill it out, and bring it with you to Tournament Check-in. This will make check-in quicker.

ALL withdrawal MUST be made by emailing Chris Mather at topguntennis@earthlink.net. DO NOT CALL WITH A WITHDRAW. WE MUST HAVE IT IN WRITING.

Withrawals on or before Dec 19th will receive a refund check of the entry fee. Withdrawals made AFTER Dec. 19th will not receive a refund.

They are major tournament sponsors and without their help, we would not be able to host the tournament. The Winter Southern Closed is played INDOORS !! No threat of rain, hurricanes, snow or anything else that has been a huge factor in many outdoor tournaments !! Come to Louisville, sit back and enjoy the fact that all matches will be played as scheduled.

This is a Southern Level 2 and National Level 4 Tournament. You CANNOT enter Two (2) Divisions in a Southern Championship The Selection Process DOES NOT include the selection of 1/4 from the younger age group in a Southern Championship

Please provide your contact information (cell phone and email) when prompted by Tennis Link during registration. It is EXTREMELY important to provide this information so that we may contact you with information regarding the tournament.

Seeding shall be done using only the results from most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.

In addition to the list, other criteria to consider:

• Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of any younger age division.

• Players with current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding.

Draws will be 64 with a Full Feed In through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. Main Draw will be best two out of three tiebreak sets. Feed in will be best of three sets playing a 10 point tiebreak in lieu of a third set.

USRSA Certified Racquet Stringing will be available at The Tennis Club at Springhurst. We have a wide variety of strings available. Cost with your own string for tournament participants is $15.00.
