6:45PM Saturday Update: 2nd Round of Main Draw and 1st Round of Consolation match times are posted. Three rounds of Main Draw and three rounds of Consolation are planned for Sunday. An Update will be posted at 6:00am on Sunday if their are any delays.

6:00AM Eastern Saturday: Is is not raining at this time. Courts are wet and it appears we have an opening of not rain on the radar before possible thunder storms. Hoepfully with a lot of help we can have some courts dry by 9:00am Eastern. At this time matches are delayed one hour.

Weather Update & Changes
1:30PM Eastern Friday: Currently there is no change in th schedule. The tournament will proceed as plannned. If there are any weather issues Saturday morning, an update will be posted by 6:00AM Eastern Saturday morning. We are aware of the weather forecasts. Currently no rain in Macon. Players will be able to Register for the tournament any time.

REGISTRATION
Registration: will begin February 27th (Friday) until Monday all day long. Players who do not register may register one hour before their schedule match time. Registration is at John Drew Smith Tennis Center only. Only the player is allowed to register into the tournament.

SCORING REGULATIONS/ FORMAT OF PLAY
Main Draw--2 out of 3 tie-break sets (new balls provided for the third set ).
Consolation--2 out of 3 sets, playing a match tie-break in lieu of third set ( 10 points ).
All mainidraw matches will be best two out of three sets.
All consolation matches will be best two out of three sets with a tiebreaker in lieu of the third set. The third set tiebreaker will be a match tiebreak played to ten points with a margin of two points.
The consolation will be a full feed-in cnsolation through the quarterfinals.
There will be a playoff for third and fourth place in the main draw.

ALTERNATES IN TWO DIVISIONS
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alt. list. They would be removed from the Alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

BIRTH CERTIFICATES / PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP
All players must have a Birth Certificate on file in the Southern office for proof of US citizenship..Green cards will be accepted, but passports will not. A file of those with proof on file is posted above.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS
A signed medical release form is required prior to playing in the tournament. Parent or guardian must sign the medical release.

NEW USTA SEEDING INFORMATION
USTA Southern Level 1, 2 and 3 Tournaments. SINGLES SEEDING CRITERIA
Seeding shall be done using only the results from most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.
Definition of Most Recently Published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists:Southern Closed Championships (June) Published List on Monday prior to tournament start. Southern Championships (other than June) Published List at least 8 days prior to tournament start. Southern Designated Published List at least 8 days prior to tournament start. Southern Level 3 Published List used for Selections tournament start.
In addition to the list, other criteria to consider:
Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of any younger age division. Players with current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding.

MATCH CHECK IN
Players are expected to check in at their match site at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled match time.

We will be using 3 sites: John Drew Smith Tennis Center (JDS) 3280 N. Ingle Place, Macon 31210,

POINT PENALTY SYSTEM
Point penalty system is in effect for all match play.

USTA RULES AND REGULATIONS/THE Code
All players are expected to play by the code, and follow all USTA rules and regulations.
In matches without an official on court, players are expected to follow the CODE..If
you've never read it, please do so.

TRAINERS
There will be one trainer on site at John Drew Smith Tennis Center during matches. By law, trainers are not allowed to distribute medicine. Please bring your own Tylenol, Advil, Sinus medicine, etc. If you have an injury or illness, we strongly suggest that you see the trainer. IF you need to withdraw due to an injury or illness, the process will be much smoother if we have confirmation from the trainer. Remember that if you default due to an injury during the tournament, you must see the Head Referee in person or it will count as a "No-Show"

It is your responsibility to notify us of your most current information. We will call the phone numbers given by TennisLink to notify you of the opportunity to enter. We will not try to contact you by the \ email address given by TennisLink this has proven to be unsuccessful. We will only communicate with you by email if you first contact us. ENTERING TWO TOURNAMENTS (Including those on the Alternate List)
Do not enter two tournaments at the same time. How to avoid Penalties: If you end up on the alternate list, you must with-draw from the alternate list first and then enter the 2nd event. Tournaments have different deadlines that will allow you time to make your changes.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, February 15, 2009 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
