FREEWAY TRAFFIC !!!

Please allow extra time for traveling to SCU for early and late matches (especially on Hwys 880, 980, 680, and 580) because of the police officers' memorial service planned for Oracle Arena. Traffic will be slow, and may even be stopped at times. CHP has announced they will be running traffic breaks at time, and there will be some closures.

Withdrawal Information

If you are not able to play in the tournament and entries are still open, you must register online and your credit card will be credited without the Tennis Link registration fee. If you must withdraw after entries close, you must do it before draws are posted or within 7 days from the start of the tournament, whichever comes first in order to receive a refund. Refunds granted after entries close will be sent after the completion of the tournament.

Avoidance

Due to large draws, we cannot accomodate schedule request. If you cannot play throughout the tournament, please do not register. League matches are not an appropriate schedule request. Once entries are closed, refunds will not be granted if you inform us that you cannot play at a certain time.

Parking all weekend, Friday and Saturday specifics- Avoid C spots!

Please note, if you have a Friday match, you will have to pay for parking until 8pm. To purchase a pass, drive past the Leavy Stadium and go to the main entrance on the left to purchase a pass. We strongly recommend you park on El Camino Real to avoid parking fees. We will not accomodate late arrivals due to parking issues. You should arrive at least 20 minutes early to accomodate for the distance from parking to the courts. IN ADDITION, THE SPOTS THAT SAY 24 HOUR ENFORCED "C" SPOTS MEAN JUST THAT. ANY DAY OF THE WEEK INCLUDING WEEKENDS YOU WILL RECEIVE A TICKET IN THOSE SPOTS. OTHER PLAYERS HAVE IGNORED THIS WARNING, SO DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. AS ALWAYS, THE TOURNAMENT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PARKING VIOLATIONS, THESE VIOLATIONS MAY BE UP TO $50. DON'T TEMPT THE SCU PARKING PATROL! PARKING TICKETS ARE A BIG BUSINESS AT SCU!

Directions to SCU- SCU projected only site used

Directions to Santa Clara University's Degheri Tennis Center from 280 From Highway 280, take the I-880/17 connector towards Oakland. From I-880, take the Alameda exit. After making a left turn at the stop light off the exit, follow the Alameda for approximately one mile and the campus will come into view on your left. The Alameda veers right into El Camino Real. Make a left onto Accolti Way and the Tennis Center will be straight ahead. Directions to Santa Clara University's Degheri Tennis Center from 880 From Interstate 880, take the Alameda exit. Make a right onto The Alameda and proceed for about one mile. The campus will come into view on your left. The Alameda veers right into The El Camino Real. Make a left onto Accolti Way and the Tennis Center will be straight ahead. Directions to Santa Clara University's Degheri Tennis Center from 101 From Highway 101, take the De La Cruz Boulevard exit. Follow the signs to Santa Clara, veering to the right at the San Jose/Santa Clara split. Make a right turn on Lafayette. From Lafayette, make a right on the El Camino Real. Follow the El Camino for about one half mile and pass the main entrance. The next light will be Accolti Way. Make a right and the Tennis Center will be straight ahead.

TD Selection Process

Frankly, very little for the players. We use this process because it makes it easier to not have to refund money should a draw not be big enough to hold. You will receive confirmation when you register that your credit card has been charged $0, this is because you are not charged until entries close and we process your entries. Do not be alarmed, we have yet to have to keep anyone out of a tournament because draws are too big! Again, this is basically just an administrative tool. Once we process entries, you will receive an automated email from Tennis Link. It will say the following... 1. You were selected and charged. 2. You were selected but there was a problem charging you. This usually is an expired card issue. Email jscalese@scu.edu asap to arrange payment by check. 3. You were not selected- The only players that were not selected into the draw are players who registered for events without significant entries.

Open events- singles and doubles

Open players may play singles and one doubles event or one doubles event. We cannot accomodate open players in two doubles divisions with only one weekend. Entry fee includes a commemorative t-shirt. We offer terrific awards and a free entry into a future SCU Open tournament. As a fundraiser for a college program, we trust you understand our not offering prize money. All draws over 16 will start on Friday, with draws limited to 64. Play may start early Friday afternoon though our goal is to start no early than 4pm, however this is not guaranteed, non-seeded players should plan for possibility of noon or 1pm matches but we will start as late (or early) as needed and possible. Junior players or college players must make note of this especially.

NTRP- Singles offered only

Due to SCU matches on the previous and following weekend, we were forced to keep this tournament to one weekend only, so for NTRP, we have only singles events. There will be NTRP doubles events showing online, do not register for those, we are unable to remove them from our sanction application. Draws larger than 16 will play on Friday afternoon/evening. We have yet to have any NTRP draws in our tournaments that needed to start on Friday if under 16 entries. In accordance with USTA rules, players may play 1 singles event in NTRP. Entry fee includes a commemorative t-shirt. Draws over 16 will start on Friday and draws will be limited to 64. Should the need to play two rounds on Friday exist, we will have two rounds of play. You should be available to play on Friday as early as early afternoon if you are in Men's 3.5, 4.0- No exceptions. If you are in 3.0, 4.5 or 5.0 Men's singles there is a chance you will need to play Friday, but as these draws are not usually as big it would be later in the day. We cannot accomodate schedule request due to the sizes of our draws.

Self rating for NTRP needed

If you do not have a self-rating you will be asked to do so upon registering. If not done before the tournament starts we will not allow you to play. VERY IMPORTANT.

All NTRP divisions have 3rd place matches

Please do not forget, if you make the semis you will automatically play either a championship match or a 3rd place match. Withdrawing from a 3rd place match is the same as withdrawing from the main draw. A default refusal to play (no emergency, illness or injury) is worth 5 pts on the Point Penalty Suspension system.

Weather updates

Keep an eye on our website right up until the point when you leave for your match. We are known for having excellent communication with our website re: weather issues, so please pay close attention.

Notes
Tournament does not include doubles for NTRP, only for Open. Please do not register for NTRP doubles, we are unable to remove these divisions from our application.
