Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2008 National Men’s Intersectional Team Event at Arlington Tennis Center! We truly enjoyed you visiting our City and facility, and we hope you had a great time. Special congratulations to the division winners, and to the overall Team Winner, Texas! Southern was a close second, followed by Pacific Northwest.

Surveys and Team Pictures
We will be emailing surveys to the captains the week of November 24. Captains, please forward the surveys to your team members. We would appreciate responses by December 8 via email, atc@arlingtontx.gov, or by fax, 817-557-5684. We want your feedback so the event will be even better next year on clay courts, as well as when it returns to hard courts in 2010. We will be sharing summary results with the National staff and committee members.
We will also be emailing team pictures to the captains the week of November 24 or December 1.

Welcome to ATC!
Welcome to the 2008 USTA National Men's Intersectional Team Event at Arlington Tennis Center! We look forward to seeing you November 20-23 at our award-winning facility. ATC is a public facility featuring 20 outdoor lighted tennis courts, a full service proshop and concessions. Our proshop carries the latest in tennis racquets and other equipment, and we offer prompt stringing service. And, all of ATC's teaching staff are USPTA certified professionals. About the Tournament
This hard court championship tournament offers men's team events in the 35s, 45s, 55s 65s and 75s age divisions. USTA Section representatives are responsible for endorsing players and fielding the teams.

Officials and PPS
All officials for this event are certified by the USTA. In addition to the Referee, we will have at least one roving official for every four courts. The Point Penalty System (PPS) will be strictly enforced.
|
|
Tournament Committees
- The Tournament Committee for this event includes the following individuals: Tournament Chairperson / Director - Sheryl Osborn, Referee Larry Eichenbaum and captains from three diferent teams (TBD).
- The Appeals Committee for this tournament includes The Tournament Committee (less the Referee).

Draws, Seeding, Schedule
Draws, Seeding and Scheduling will be finalized at the Captains' meeting on Wednesday, November 19.

Formats
All Flights will be played in Round Robin Format to maximize the number of matches for the players.

Awards
- Awards will be given for Champion, Finalist and 3rd in each division.
- Gold and Silver medallions awarded for Champion and Finalist will also be provided by the USTA.

Player Banquet
Arlington Tennis Center will host the Player Banquet at the Legends of the Game Museum at the Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Thursday, November 20. Cocktails will begin at 6:30 PM in the gallery, and the buffet dinner will begin at 7:00 PM in the upper level. Special guests will include Arilngton Mayor, Dr. Robert Cluck, City Council Members, USTA National Representatives, USTA Texas Section Executive Board and Staff Members, and Arlington Parks and Recreation Department Senior Staff. Player Lunches
Arlington Tennis Association will be providing free lunches to players and guests each day, Thursday through Saturday, and a boxed lunch on Sunday.

Player Beverage Time
Arlington Tennis Association will host an adult beverage time for players each afternoon after doubles play. Enjoy!

Site Information
- All matches will be played at ATC. Call 817-459-6163 for directions, or visit your favorite map search Website.
- Spectators are not allowed on courts at any time.
- Pets are prohibited in the ATC proshop/building & inside the fenced areas around the courts.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot), except by permit.
- Smoking is prohibited in the ATC proshop/building & inside the fenced areas around the courts.

Practice & Warm-up Courts
- A LIMITED number of practice courts will be available at ATC free of charge throughout the tournament.
- Please contact one of our Customer Service Representatives at the ATC front counter to reserve practice courts.
- In addition to practice courts at Arlington Tennis Center, area park courts are available on a first come, first served basis. See map link.

Scorekeepers & Match Boards
Players will use of scorekeepers on court during matches to avoid scoring disputes. Each court will also have an identification board on the gate for players to list who is on court.

Racquet Stringing
ATC’s stringing staff is among the most experienced in our area, and we will offer 24-hour service for tournament players during the four-day event. Cost is $14 for labor (plus string).

Trainer on Site
ATC has arranged a partnership with the University of Texas at Arlington to provide a trainer on site during the primary hours of the tournament. We sincerely hope that you do not require the trainer's services.
|
|
Emergency Care
Arlington Tennis Center is located directly across the street from Medical Center of Arlington, one of our area's largest hospitals. In addition, Medical Center of Arlington has a brand new, state-of-the art Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center that we hope you do not ever need to see.

Photographer on Site
A professional sports photographer, John Tyler of Action Photography, will be on site during the tournament! You will be able to see and purchase snaps of yourself and your friends. Mr. Tyler will also be taking our team pictures.

Water on Courts
Water coolers will be placed on courts during the event. In addition, a water fountain and ice machine on on the northwest patio. Players and guests are also welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop, and players may bring their own water jugs on court.

Arlington Tennis Center is pleased to provide free wireless Internet to our guests.

Personal Videotaping
Videotaping by individuals is allowed only for personal use. Videotaping and photography of players other than those related to the person taking the photograph is prohibited other than by the professional photographer on site.

Cell Phones
Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or in the Tournament room. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones on the property should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations of the facility. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dress Code
- We ask that all players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment.
- All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens.
- Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well. Players who do not dress appropriately will be asked to adjust their attire.
