IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT UPDATE: PLEASE READ ALL
Due to draw sizes, we are using an alternate site. Please read the draws carefully. RCC is Riverchase Country Club, PRC is Pelham Racquet Club. Directions below. Also, please check back periodically in case we have a withdrawal or have to make any changes. We need all players to check in here at PRC on Friday, July 10. If you have a match at Riverchase, you do not have to check in at Pelham Racquet Club. Go straight to Riverchase and check in there.

Directions
To Riverchase From Pelham Racquet Club: Leaving club, turn right on to Highway 52. Go 1 mile to Highway 31 and turn right. Stay on Highway 31 for 6 miles and turn left on to Riverchase Parkway. Follow Riverchase Parkway for 2.7 miles until you see a sign (Riverchase Country Club) on right. Turn right at stop sign and in 0.3 miles courts will be on left.
To Riverchase From Hotels on 119: Go West (away from I-65) to Highway 31, turn right on to Highway 31 and go approximately 2 miles. Turn left on to Riverchase Parkway. Follow Riverchase Parkway for 2.7 miles until you see a sign (Riverchase Country Club) on right. Turn right at stop sign and in 0.3 miles courts will be on the left.

Seeding/Draws
Seeds have been approved by USTA Nationals. Draws should be posted late Monday afternoon or Tuesday. Thanks!

Doubles Play
All players planning to play doubles must sign-up in person at the Pelham Racquet Club during check-in on Friday, July 10th or by the deadline which is Saturday, July 11th at 12:00 pm. (Even if you signed up online). Doubles play will beging on Sunday following the singles and the scoring format is an 8 game pro set with a 7 point tiebreak at 8 games all.

Registration
Check in for the tournament will be 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday, July 11th at the Pelham Racquet Club. There is no mandatory meeting but it's very important for everyone to register on that Friday. If for some reason you can't, please allow plenty of time before your match time on Saturday to check in and get your packet of information.

Medical Release Information
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of registration. Players are not allowed on the court without this signed release. To get a blank form, please click more info.

Stringing
There will be an experienced stringer at the Pelham Racquet Club during the tournament. Labor charge if you have your own string is $16.00.

Draw Size & Scoring Formats
SINGLES: 128 draw for boy's and girl's divisions. Full feed-in through quarterfinals and playoff matches for 3rd/4th place. Scoring in main draw singles is the best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets. The consolation draw in singles is the best 2 out of 3, with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set.
DOUBLES: 64 draw for boy's and girl's divisions. Doubles is single elimination and the scoring will be an 8 game pro set with a 10 point match tiebreak at 8 games all. The finals will be the best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets unless there are time constraints due to weather.

Schedule of Play
Saturday - 2 rounds main draw, 1 round consolation
Sunday - 1 round main draw, 2 rounds consolation, 2 rounds doubles
Monday - 1 round main draw, 2 rounds consolation, 2 rounds doubles
Tuesday- 1 round main draw, 2 rounds consolation, 1 round doubles
Wednesday - 1 round main draw, 2 rounds consolation, 1 round doubles
Thursday - 1 round main draw, 1 round consolation
This schedule could change due to inclement weather.

Tournament Ball
The official tournament ball is Wilson US Open Ball.

Hospitality
Lunch will be served Saturday and Sunday upstairs at the Pelham Racquet Club for players, coaches, and parents. Lunch is provided for the players, but coaches and parents are $7.

Practice Courts
Clay courts will be available to tournament players on Friday, July 10th for practice. Once the tournament starts, there will be 5 hard courts available. We will take reservations with four to a court on a daily basis. Players may get on the clay courts in the morning before matches start. As the tournament progresses we should have more clay courts become available.

Alternate Practice Courts
Pelham Tennis Center has 9 hard courts available for practice. They will be on a first come basis.
DIRECTIONS FROM HOTELS ON HWY 119 - Go West on Hwy 119 to Hwy 31 - Turn left and go approximately 2.5 miles - Look for Go Fourth Homes sign on the right then take right at the electronic city park sign onto Ball Park Road - Take 1st left and courts are on the right. Approximately 5 minutes.

Pro Shop
We do have a fully stocked pro shop at the Pelham Racquet Club. We are also a tax free facility.

DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT TO HOTELS: Take ramp (Right) onto I-20/I-59 towards Tuscaloosa/Downtown. At Exit 124A take ramp (Left) onto I-65 South towards Montgomery. Go 21.4 miles to Exit 246 (Hwy 119/Cahaba Valley Road). Turn right and Hotels are along this road. Approximately 25 minutes.
DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT TO PELHAM RACQUET CLUB: Same as above and continue on I-65 South towards Montgomery to Exit 242 (Pelham/Helena). Turn left onto Highway 52. The club is 1/2 mile on left at the 3rd traffic light. Approximately 30 minutes.

The tournament deadline is Monday, June 29th at noon Central time.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, June 18, 2009 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
