Sportsmanship Awards
Arlington Tennis Center emphasizes postive sportsmanship by selecting one boy and one girl from each of our Mid Cities tournaments to receive sporstmanship awards. The officials and tournament staff selected Ross Liao (B16) of Euless and Joanna Raines (G16) of Aledo to receive this special recogniztion. In addition to the sportsmanship award, both Ross and Joanna won first place in their divisions. Congratulations to these two outstanding examples of sportsmanship both on and off the court.

Welcome to Arlington Tennis Center's April 5 Mid Cities Tournament! ATC is a public facility featuring 20 outdoor lighted tennis courts, a full service proshop and concessions. Our proshop carries the latest in tennis racquets and other equipment, and we offer prompt stringing service. See you on the courts April 5!

About the Tournament
- This tournament will be held on Saturday, April 5, with a rain makeup tentatively scheduled for Sunday, April 6.
- This tournament is a non-sanctioned event for non-qualified players. No Championship or Super-Championship players may enter the Mid Cities.
- Events offered at this tournament are B&G 10s-18s singles, with a Co-ed 8s singles division, plus a Boys and a Girls QuickStart division for beginning competitors aged 7-10.
- Age divisions that do not make will be combined or cancelled.
- Main and Consolation draws for regular events are 8-game Prosets, no ad, with a tie-break at 8 all.
- QuickStart divisions will utilize the QuickStart format (visit www.usta.com for more information).
- Divisions with only three or four competitors will be scheduled as round robins or combined with other divisions.
- Matches will not begin before 8:30 AM on Saturday, April 5.
- Matches may extend into Saturday evening, so please be prepared to play late on Saturday.
- Trophies will be awarded in each division for First, Second and Consolation, as well as a Sportsmanship award.

Your USTA membership info is the official data downloaded and used by the tournament staff.
Check that your USTA membership is current, your address and telephone numbers are correct and that you have listed alternate (work &/or mobile) phone numbers. Email addresses are also helpful.
THE TOURNAMENT STAFF MAY NEED ALTERNATE METHODS OF CONTACTING YOU REGARDING TOURNAMENT ISSUES, so please check your home/cell numbers and email address carefully BEFORE you register.

Entering the Tournament
- The entry fee for ALL Mid Cities players who do not register on-line is $15.
- Players who register on-line will pay $12, plus the USTA Tennis Link user fee of (approximately $3).
- On-line registration is encouraged as it is the fastest and most secure means of registration.
- You should receive a confirmation number when you register on-line. If you do not, or if you have any problems with on-line registration, contact linkteam@usta.com.
- Check Applicants list after registration fro the most updated information. Competitors list may not be complete until after the deadline
- Entries from independent players (players not registering through a club) who do not register on-line may be accepted via fax, mail or in person, but the entries/fees must be in the hands of the tournament director and prepaid before Thursday, April 3, 12:00 Noon.

Deadline
- THE DEADLINE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT IS 11:59 PM ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2, for on-line entries.
Pros from facilities may call in players from their clubs through noon on Thursday, April 3.- If you are in doubt about your entry, check the Applicants list and email linkteam@usta.com if your name does not appear on that list shortly after your registration on-line, or if you do not receive a confirmation number at the end of your registration process.
- NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
- Please do not wait until the day before the tournament to check on your entry status. If your name does not appear on the Applicants list by 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 3, email atc@arlingtontx.gov.

Withdrawals
- WITHDRAWALS WILL BE REFLECTED ON-LINE THROUGH 6:00 PM FRIDAY, APRIL 4. LATE WITHDRAWALS MAY NOT BE POSTED ON-LINE.
- If withdrawing late (after 6:00 PM Friday), please be considerate of opponents and notify ATC in writing AND via phone BEFORE the tournament begins Saturday morning, as email may not be read "instantly" during the last hours before the tournament starts.

For ALL Mid Cities: Players who withdraw after the draws are posted or who "no show" Saturday morning are still responsible for tournament fees. Non payment of fees may result in players not being accepted into future Mid Cities tournaments.

Seeding and Draws
- Seeding is based on ZAT Standings lists.
- Draws are computerized, but an effort will be made to separate players from the same town when possible.
- Draws will be a maximum size of 32 players. Events with more than 32 players will be split and winners awarded for each draw.
- Draws will be posted Friday, April 4.

Site Information
- All Matches are tentatively scheduled to be played at Arlington Tennis Center (ATC).
Alternate locations may be necessary, depending on number of tournament entrants.
- Arlington Tennis Center is in the HEART of food and fun central. We are located just blocks away from the Parks at Arlington (traditional indoor mall) and the Arlington Highlands (new open-air mall), which feature dozens and dozens of food and entertainment options. We also have many fast food (including Burger King, Sonic and Subway) within walking distance from Arlington Tennis Center.

Rain Date
- If the full tournament on Saturday is rained out, the makeup rain date is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, April 6.
- Please confirm with tournament desk about rain issues/makeup, or call 817-459-6166. Refunds will not be given for divisions that begin play.

Point Penalty System
- The USTA Code of Conduct and the Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced for the benefit of all players and spectators.
- Any player that is issued two code violations during the spring Mid Cities schedule (due to player or spectator actions) will be disqualified from remaining tournaments that season.
- Lateness penalties will also be assessed. See the link for "Junior Know the Rules" for general information.

Officials
- The coordinator of officials for the Mid Cities tournaments is Susan Wertenberger, USTA Referee.
- At least one certified USTA Official will be on site throughout the tournament.

Advance Planning
- Spectators are not allowed on courts at any time.
- No pets are allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside the fenced area around the courts.
- Smoking is not allowed in the proshop/building or inside fenced areas.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).

Dress Code
- We ask that all players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment. Thanks for your cooperation.
- All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens.
- Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
