2009 IRVINE OPEN TOURNAMENT

Happy Valentine's Day! The weather forecast looks cool but dry. No delays are expected. Please double check your draws for match times and locations.

Please note that for the remainder of the tournament a 10 point Super Tie Break will be played in place of a 3rd set.

All matches scheduled to play at Lower Peter's Canyon (LPC) on Saturday, 2/14, have been moved to Woodbridge High School (WHS). The times of the matches have not changed. The address for Woodbridge High School is: 2 Meadowbrook, Irvine, CA 92604. All matches sheduled to play at Heritage Park (HP) are not affected.

Matches have been rescheduled and the draws have been updated. Please check your draws closely as it is almost certain that your match times and locations have changed. The Men's Open doubles division has been cancelled. All entrants for that event will be refunded. Additionally several matches which were originally considered defaulted have been rescheduled because the match was cancelled due to rain. Again please check your draws closely.

All matches that are not in progess have been cancelled for the remainder of the day, Sunday. Your matches will be rescheduled for next weekend, 2/14-2/15. I apologize for the inconvenience. Check for updated match times and locations during the week.

Matches have stopped at Heritage Park (HP) as of 11:30 AM. We expect to resume match play within an hour. We are back to the original 2 hour delay. If your match was scheduled for 12:30 PM you will now be playing at 2:30 PM. Please call with any questions 714-323-3494.

The matches at Heritage Park (HP) are getting back on schedule. Please show-up as close to your originally scheduled time (time on draw) as possible. Call us if you can to let us know your status (714-323-3494). No defaults will be given until you miss your rain delayed match time (2 hours after original start).

We are extending the rain delay at Heritage Park (HP) to 2 hours due to court dampness. If your match was scheduled to start at 8:00 AM it will now start at 10:00 AM. The original 2 hour delay for Lower Peter's Canyon (LPC) is still in effect.

It is not raining and the forecast looks good for today's matches, however, the courts are a little wet. Please show up for your newly scheduled times and locations (see draws). We will get matches out as the courts become ready to play.

Matches for Sunday,2/8, have been rescheduled. Please check the updated draws for your new match times and locations. Any matches that have not been scheduled for Sunday will be pushed back to the second weekend.

All remaining matches being played at Lower Peter's Canyon (LPC) have been cancelled. Matches are still being played at Heritage Park (HP). Please check back tonight for updates to match schedules and locations.

The rain has stopped and squeegeeing is in process. For now we are sticking to the 5 hour rain delay.

We are adding another 2 hours to Saturdays rain delay. All 8:00 AM matches will now be starting at 1:00 PM. If your original start time for Saturday was 3:30 PM or later your match has been cancelled for Saturday. Please check for the new Schedules tonight after 8:00 PM. The draws and locations will be updated by then.

Due to weather we are issuing a 3 hour rain delay for all Saturday matches. For example, if your match starts at 8:00 AM you should now report at 11:00 AM.

In the event that it is raining on Saturday, 2/7/09, all matches will be delayed 3-4 hours from their original start time. Cancellations will not be made until the afternoon. If Saturday is rained-out, we are anticipating getting matches played on Sunday.
