Future Match Info Report

Check-in:

You must check-in 15-30 minutes prior to your first match time. For all other match times, you must check-in at the tournament desk for each match. The 15 minute default rule will be in effect. If your first match is not until 9:30am or 10:30am, you may wait to check-in at that time, you do not need to be here at 8:30a.m.

Play Format:

Round Robin play. Scoring will be no-ad. There will be court monitors/referees to help with scoring, rules, & to keep play continuous on all courts. Each player needs to report back to the desk after each match. The winner or finalists/semi-finalist of each group will be determined by head-to-head wins & in the event of a tie, the total number of games won, subtracted by the number of games lost will determine the winner or finalists/semi-finalists. That is why it is important for each player to confrim the score at the desk after your match. The finals for each age group that has 2 or more groups will be LATE AFTERNOON.

Scoring Format:

Players will be using a shortened scoring format. Participants will only be playing (1) set per match, based on the number of players in your group. Your set may be the first to win 6 games, 7 games, or 8 games. So, each match will be a pro set with a pre-set amount of games to be played. When you arrive on Saturday morning, the Director & referees will all have hand-outs on the rules & the number of games each age group will be required to play.

Match Times:

Match times are approximate, we ask that you check in at the posted times for each match. It is not guaranteed that you will get on at the posted time.

Draw Update:

If there are 3 or less entries in any age group, we may combine with another age group to make a larger round robin. Draws should be available on Thursday @ 8:00p.m.

Tournament Finals:

Two players will advance to the late-afternoon finals. Finalists are determined by total number of games won, minus the total number of games lost. During the lunch break, we will announce who has made the finals and what time each final will begin.

8 & under Draws:

8 & under Draws will be using the 36/60 size court & low compression balls. This will be the same for the finals as well. Boy's & Girls wil be combined for this event.

Lunch:

All participants & parents will be treated to pizza from 12:00p.m. - 1:30p.m.

Awards:

All players will receive a gift & other prizes for entering the tournament. Awards will be given to winners & finalists of each draw. Awards will also be given for sportsmanship during the lunch break.

Tournament Balls:

We ask that all players leave the balls on the courts after play. There will be a new can of balls on each court at the beginning of play at 9:00a.m. At 10:30am & 12:00pm, we will replace the balls on each court with a new can.

Directions to RHTC:

897 Maplewood Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29732 From I-77 North/South: Take Exit 82 B towards Rock Hill. Turn onto Cherry Road heading west. Continue on Cherry Road for 1 1/4 miles through 5-6 traffic lights. Tennis Center will be on your left. If you have come to Cherry Park or to Blockbuster you have gone to far. CiCi-s Pizza & TCBY is across the street, Little Caesar's Pizza, Penn Station, & Family Dollar are a block just before the center on the same side of the street. Call (803)-326-3842 if you need help. From I-85 take Route #5 or Route 161 towards Rock Hill/York, do not go all the way to Charlotte. Follow Route #5 into Rock Hill & turn left onto Cherry Road. Continue on Cherry Road for 2.1 miles and the tennis center will be on your right.

USTA Rules:

The point penalty system will be used for this event. USTA rules will govern all play. USTA Referees will be present along with court monitors during the entire event.

Parking!!!

IMPORTANT!!! There are additional park spots behind the tennis center at Sullivan Middle School. We have only 35 spots at the bottom of the hill of the tennis center, with an additional 200 spots behind the courts at the middle school. DIRECTIONS: When you turn left/right onto Maplewood Ave. from Cherry Road, do not turn into the parking lot of the center, continue straight on Maplewood Ave. for 1/8 of a mile, then turn right onto Eden Terrace and then a quick right into the middle school lot by the tennis courts.

Notes
Players who have accumulated 200 points or less are automatically eligible for this tournament. Players who have points between 200-300 must email or call the Tournament Director and be voted in by the tournament committee for entry. Any player with 300 or more points are not eligible for this tournament. We will have an 8 & under division that will combine girls & boys in this event. The participants must be able to serve and keep score. We will have court monitors for this age division to help with scoring and rules.
