Draws Posted
Draws are now available except for Girls singles 12 and 14 and doubles. The committee is continuing to try to accomodate some special needs for players by rescheduling some matches. Hopefully the full draws will be available by 4:30 pm today. Thanks for you patience and understanding.

COURTS AND SITES - Practice Courts
Columbia Tennis Center is the main check in site for all players before the first match. Directions to the other sites being used will given out at registration. Courts will be available for practice one hour before first matches of the day at each site. Dedicated Practice courts only are three courts at the corner of Pickens and Wheat Streets.

TO ASSIST THE TOURNAMENT Please email inquiries, withdrawals and entry questions to tournament email address. TELEPHONE MESSAGES OFTEN ARE GARBLED IN RECEPTION AND NOT RELIABLE. Always followup a telephone call with an email for confirmation. In the email, ALWAYS Provide player full name, age group and event in your specific query for tournament staff to effectively respond. Include cell phone if immediate reply is absolutely necessary.

30 TOURNAMENT COURTS - 4 SITES - ALL ONLY 5 MINUTES APART
The State Closed Hardcourt Tournament will use 30 courts in the downtown Columbia and USC community area. COLUMBIA TENNIS CENTER, 1630 Whaley Street in downtown Columbia, is the main check in registration site for all players before their first match. Columbia Tennis Center has 14 lighted hard courts with pro shop area and stands seating for viewing between banks of courts. *** Other sites are the lighted USC INDOOR four courts on Whaley Street where the 10s will be played, and the USC MEN'S VARSITY FACILITY of six courts on Heyward Street where the 12s will be played, and USC WOMEN'S VARSITY FACILITY of six courts on Blossom Street. *** All USC tennis facilities have excellent seating and viewing for spectators. Also, the USC PE courts on Wheat Street and Pickens Street provide and additional three lighted practice and play courts for the tournament.

AWARDS AND TROPHIES - SPORTSMANSHIP
Awards will be presented to the winner, runnerup, and to 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th place finishers in 32 draws and also to 7th and 8th place finishers in 64 draws. A SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WILL BE AWARDED TO ONE BOY AND ONE GIRL BY A VOTE OF OFFICIALS, PLAYERS AND PARENTS.

EVENTS - ELIGIBILITY - FORMAT
The State Hardcourt Tennis Championships Tournament is for South Carolina residents only. Entry is open to all SC USTA members directly to main draw of their event. There is no qualifying. Events are Boys and Girls Singles and Doubles in age groups 10s through 18s. Main Draw Singles will be a full feedin draw with consolations though the quarterfinals. Doubles will be single elimination and play an 8-game proset match through the quarterfinals. All Main Draw Singles, except for 10s, will be best of 3 tiebreak sets. The 10s singles - main draw and consolations - will be 2 regular sets with a 10 point tiebreaker as the third set. All singles consolations wil be 2 regular sets with a 10 point tiebreak as the third set.

USTA RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERN TOURNAMENT PLAY
USTA Rules and The CODE of CONDUCT govern the tournament competition and participants during the event. USTA certified officials and court monitors will be courtside to assist play as necessary. Players should always notify an official before leaving the court for any reason. Each site will have a tournament referee, and the head referee will be at Columbia Tennis Center, the main site. The tournament committee will be available to resolve issues involving the competition. Players should note that the USTA regulations regarding a lateness default for matches is 15 minutes from scheduled match time.

TOURNAMENT ENTRY BY ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY
PLAYERS MAY ENTER TWO EVENTS, ONE SINGLES AND ONE DOUBLES. BOTH PLAYERS OF A DOUBLES TEAM MUST INDIVIDUALLY ENTER THE DOUBLES EVENT WITH A DOUBLES PARTNER TO BE A DOUBLES ENTRY IN THE EVENT. USTA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.

TOURNAMENT HOSPITALITY
All players will receive a tournament tee shirt, a goody bag with discount coupons for dining and entertainment in downtown Columbia. Lunches will provided daily, as will fruit and snacks and ice.
Vendors of tennis gifts, photography and video and summer treats will be on site at Columbia Tennis Center. Drawings for gift certificates at tennis shops will an activity included during the tournament.

WEATHER FORMAT - TOURNAMENT PLAY
If inclement weather delays play such that rounds cannot be completed on time, and the competition is delayed, the tournament committee may require a change to a short scoring format or cancellation of consolations or other events. All delays of play or changes to format will be communicated to players and parents promptly at site and online.

2007 SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WINNERS
CONGRATULATIONS TO KENDALL RICH and JONATHAN DINGLE, winners of the 2007 SC Junior Hardcourts Sportsmanship Awards. There are many champions in the boys and girls events but only one player from the girls and one from the boys receive the Sportsmanship Award. These awards are voted on by players, parents and officials.

MATCH VIDEOS BY HIGH-TECH TENNIS
On site videos of matches will be available on site July 12-15 by High-Tech Tennis from Atlanta, GA. Very experienced match videographers and popular with parents, coaches and players. Videos are excellent teaching tools and wonderful momentos of age group championship tennis events. High-Tech Tennis offers four Match Recording Packages. Check the link for website information. SINGLES EVENTS WILL BE FULL FEEDIN THROUGH THE QUARTERFINALS.
COLUMBIA TENNIS CENTER is the main tournament site. ALL PLAYERS
must check in at Columbia Tennis Center 1 HOUR before FIRST MATCH
TIME to complete tournament registration prior to first match.
After initial registration, check in for future matches 30 minutes
