check in for the tournament
if you do not check in friday evening, you must come to newman tennis center on saturday at least one hour before your first scheduled match to check in. you will not be allowed to play unless you have checked in and turned in a signed medical release. you will receive directions and a map to all the sites and practice sites. pp stands for patriots park; wl stands for west lake country club; prc stands for petersburg racquet club and ftc stands for fleming tennis center.

friday check in player dinner and mandatory player meeting
we will have the friday check in at forest hills golf course grille (1500 comfort circle, augusta, ga 30909). directions: coming from i-20; exit i-20 at exit 196a and follow i-520 to exit 2 (wrightsboro rd) turn left onto wrightsboro road and follow 2 miles. you will pass the entrance to newman tennis center on your left, turn left at the next corner (magnolia st) and then left on comfort circle and then turn into the parking lot. this is also a great place to park during the tournament. check in and dinner will be from 5 to 8 pm.
mandatory player/parent meeting ( for 10's and 12's) 7 pm friday. all other players and parents are encouraged to attend: weather permitting we will have the meeting in the newman tennis center stadium, other wise it will be in the golf course grille. rick davidson from the georgia tennis association will be here to discuss some current topics that will affect all players and parents.

selection process
top 32 players applying from the usta/southern latest standings list. 28 players from this age group will be selected and up to 4 players from the younger age group who are eligible from the younger age group, who have a standing in the top 40 of the younger age group, and are not in the selected 28, will be selected. the names of the player who have been selected will appear as competitors. alternates are listed in the report section. do not refer to the alternates on the far left side of the web page (that list is not updated).
players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. they would be removed from the other age division. #2. players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alt. list. they would be removed from the alternate list in the other division. #3. players selected to one age division woud be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

Formate and Scoring
Draws will be 32 players with a Full Feed in Consolation through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. Main Draw will play the best two out of three tie-break sets. Feed-in Consolation and Boys and Girls 10's will be the best of three sets playing a 10 point match tie-break in lieu of the third set. In the event of inclement weather, match format is subject to change.

Dress Code
The Tournament committee has set A dress code in this Tournament The Rules to which all participants are expected to adhere. These Rules are based on our community standards and all participants must observe, all rules, at all of the sites used during the tournament. Good manners on and off the court will be required of all participants, coaches and family at all times.
Proper tennis attire should be worn. For females, proper attire does not include, roll down waist bands on skirts or shorts, or exposure of skin between tops and skirts or shorts. For males proper attire does not include tank tops or sleeveless shirts, or shorts worn below the waist. Shirts must be worn at all times. Please respect our standards and adhere to our rules. Failure to do so will result in the player being required to change prior to the match. This delay may result in penalties (PPS) being assessed .

Medical Release

No Doubles
This Tournament will not have Doubles.

georgia level 2 tournament. southern level 3 tournament.
deadline - 11:59 pm. draws will be a maximum of 32 players with a
full feed in consolation. players may sign up for 2 events (for
those desiring to play up) but you will only play in one event. the
sta will make those selections as well. scoring for the main draw
will be the best of three sets; boys and girls 10's and consolation
will be the best of two sets with a match tie breaker in lieu of
the third set. in the event of inclement weather an alternate
scoring system will be used for all draws. we will have roving
unpires at all sites. early check-in and tournament dinner will be
friday jan. 19th from 5-8 pm at forest hills golf course, (see
notes for directions). STA will make the selections for this
tournament. we encourage you to use the usta's on-line registration
but we do offer express entry. express entry is a faxed, e-mail, or
paper entry that uses a credit card. there is an additional $3
charge for using express entry. championship - open to all players
regardless of ranking.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, January 9, 2008 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
