P.O. Box 2114
Middletown, Connecticut 06456
July 16, 2008
Dear Players and Parents:
Thank you for participating in the New England Tennis Association’s Annual Tennis Tournament on July 4th, 5th and 6th. The event drew 392 players, and was one of the best attended tournaments for the association in recent years. I sincerely appreciate your participation in this tournament.
I want to personally apologize to the players and parents for unfortunate events that occurred during this year’s tournament. I acknowledge that mistakes were made this year year and some things could have been done more efficiently. I can assure you that corrective action will be taken for next year’s tournament. I also assure you that these events are not indicative of our 89 years of hosting the game of tennis in New England.
As I look toward next year, our 90th anniversary, my hope is to capture the professionalism and enthusiasm of this tournament in which Arthur Ashe, James Blake, Zina Garrison and Mal Washington played. I hope you will join us.
Sincerely,
Roxanne Aaron-Selph
