All about Andrea!
Andrea Shumate died one year and one month ago do to the devastating effects of sarcoma. In May of 2006, two weeks after giving birth to her youngest son, Jackson Andrea discovered a lump which eventually was found to be sarcoma. Two weeks after Jackson's first birthday on May 28, 2007, Andrea passed away at the age of 25 leaving her husband, James (a Marine who served in Iraq), and her two young sons James and Jackson as well as her parents, sisters and brother. We ask when you are at the tournament, that you look at Andrea's pictures and go home and give your wife, husband, mom, dad, brother, sister, children the biggest hug. Seeing how vibrant and full of life Andrea was is evidence that life is fragile and our health can change at any time. Value each day and remember Andrea's life as we celebrate her 25 years and commit to help her family and the Sarcoma Foundation in fighting this dreadful disease.

How can you help? Donate $10.00 get a tshirt!
You too can join the campaign to tell two…
Each of us is affected by cancer - whether we are a patient, spouse, relative, friend, or friend-of-a-friend. We all know one person who is fighting the battle, won their courageous struggle, or lost their life to this disease. Everyone is affected. Everyone wants a cure.
We hope to identify this universal bond of cancer, and in a joint effort, share a common passion for one of cancer’s overlooked diseases – sarcoma. Campaigns advocating the awareness of leukemia, lymphoma, lung cancer, breast cancer and other more common cancers have successfully informed and raised public awareness. Now, Two by Two hopes to direct the community’s attention to sarcoma.
While sarcoma is not the most frequent form of cancer, its patients, families, and friends experience the same strife, grief, and emotional angst faced by other cancer patients. They love, they fear, and they fight…resiliently.
It is time that more attention within the cancer community was directed towards sarcoma. If we can share this passion, this goal – to raise awareness for this neglected cancer and to acknowledge the much needed support for this disease within the cancer community - Two by Two can transfer this energy into a movement, and a powerful one at that.
Wear the shirt. And tell two.

What is sarcoma??
Sarcoma is a highly malignant form of cancer arising in the bones and connective tissues in the body. Normal connective tissues may include (but are not limited to) muscles, deep skin tissues, nerves, blood vessels, fat, cartilage, joints, ligaments, and tendons.
Sarcoma can start anywhere in the human body it’s a disease that knows no borders.
There are approximately 9,800 new cases of soft tissue and bone sarcoma each year in the United States alone. While rare among adults, sarcoma is among the top five most commonly diagnosed cancers among children and adolescents.
Sarcoma is referred to as an ‘orphan disease’. Currently, sarcoma takes the back seat to more common forms of cancer such as leukemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, and lung cancer. Consequently, sarcoma receives significantly less support from the cancer community, particularly concerning research funding.
Too little is known about this disease to the extent that over the last 2½ decades, few advances in the treatment of sarcoma have been discovered – a stark contrast to the significant development achieved in treating other cancers. In fact, the number of doctors with solid experience in treating sarcomas is so limited that sarcoma patients often receive treatment that actually lessens their life expectancy before arriving at one of just a handful of clinics in the United States that specialize in the treatment of this disease. Of course, treatment away from home only adds to the emotional trauma that accompanies any cancer diagnosis. Away from family and friends, sarcoma patients can feel even more isolated and alone.
