USTA Junior Closed Qualifying Tournament Information
Players seeking endorsement into the USTA Southern Closed Championships must play in the Qualifying ( excluding waivered players ) and MUST play in the age divison they want to be endorsed into USTA Southern Closed Championships.
All Players must play double in the same age division in which they entered singles in the USTA Georgia Closed Qualifier.

MEDICAL RELEASES
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of tournament registration. Please download and bring this completed with you to speed up the registration process. Players are not allowed on court without this signed release. WITHDRAWNALS
If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do it online. Click on edit registration, then withdraw. You will get a confirmation number - KEEP THIS NUMBER! Without the confirmation number you will not have proof that you withdrew. All Withdrawals after entries close must be sent in writing by E-mail to maconten@bellsouth.net to the attention of Donna Bailey. Please be aware that if a player withdraws for any reason other than illness, injury, or a family emergency: suspension points will be given to that player. We will be checking if players that withdraw are playing in other tournaments that same week. Players withdrawing within 7 days of the tournament start date will not be refunded the entry fee. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals after 11:59 EST on Saturday, May 24, 2008.

ALTERNATES
The Alternates by Event Report will be updated daily. Contact us immediately by email or fax if you realize that you cannot come. It is the alternates' responsibility to check the website to see if your alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to contact you if your status does change to being in the tournament. You should make sure your contact information is correct on your membership profile. Once an alternate is selected for play, payment is due immediately by VISA or MASTERCARD.

PLAYER REGISTRATION
All players must register for the tournament prior to playing their first match. Registration will take place only at John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Registration hours are Friday, May 30 from 4 - 7:30 pm EST or Saturday, May 31 from 6:45 AM - 6:00 PM EST. After the initial registration, players should check-in at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match at the assigned site. When a player checks in, it means that they are ready to play.

SCORING AND FORMAT
BG 12 –18. 64 DRAW with a Full Feed In through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. Singles Main Draw Regular Scoring (2 out of 3 sets) ONE Singles Main Draw and Consolation match on Sunday, and two doubles matches on Sunday. Consolation Scoring - Regular Scoring (2 out of 3 sets). Doubles - Single Elimination 8-game pro sets. (Match tie-break at 8-all). BG 10. 32 DRAW with a Full Feed In through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. Singles Main Draw and Consolation Short Scoring (2 out of 3 sets with a 3rd set match tie-break). Doubles Single Elimination 8-game pro set. (Match tie-break at 8-all).

DRESS CODE
Boys - No tank tops allowed, Girls - No bare midriffs allowed

Pro Penn X-Duty balls will be used. New balls will be furnished for full third sets.

DRILLS
Tournament Warm-up Drills will be available at John Drew Smith Tennis Center. To sign-up, participants can register @ www.macontennisconnect.org or call 478- 474-5075 to schedule. Cost is $14/player for players who pre-register and $16/player for players who drop in.

PRACTICE COURTS
Practice Courts at John Drew Smith will be available Friday May 30th at no charge for GA QUALIFIER registered players from 12 Noon to 7 PM. You must check-in at the inside front desk. There is a backboard court at both JDS and Tattnall. Practice Courts will be available during the tournament at John Drew Smith from 6:30 AM -7:30 AM. All other sites will have practice courts available from 7 AM - 7:30 AM. All courts must be cleared no later than 7:30 AM. Players not cooperating with this policy are subject to penalty.

HIGH-TECH TENNIS (from Atlanta, GA) will be onsite for the FIRST TWO DAYS ONLY to offer Match Play DVDs, College Videos, and more. Videos are EXCELLENT teaching tools (and WONDERFUL keepsakes) because SEEING IS BELIEVING.

GEORGIA LEVEL 1 TOURNAMENT. SOUTHERN LEVEL 3 TOURNAMENT. This
tournament is open only to junior players whose parents have
established a legal residency in Georgia, hold a current USTA
membership card assigned to Georgia, and who are citizens of the
United States or meet the resident alien requirements for a
national ranking. In case of inclement weather the scoring format
could change.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Monday, May 12, 2008 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
