Sportsmanship
The tournament staff (officials, site directors, facility staff) are pleased to announce winners of the Sportsmanship awards. The winner of the Clarence Mabry award was presented to Xavier Gonzalez (Boys' 12A) of Houston, Texas. The player selected for the Nancy Jeffett award was Lisa Fieldsend (Girls' 14A) of New Braunfels, Texas. Xavier and Lisa demonstrated great sportsmanship on the court and a fun, enthusiastic behavior off court. In addition to the Clarence Mabry and Nancy Jeffett awards, the tournament staff also chose two additional players to receive tournament sportsmanship awards for their fair play during matches and their positive attitude off the court: Jacob Brisky (Boys' 14) of Southlake, Texas, and Lindsey Huynh Bennett (Girls' 16A) of Allen, Texas. Congratulations to Xavier, Lisa, Jacob and Lindsey!

RAIN DELAY
As of 11:00 AM on Monday, October 6, Main Draw matches scheduled for 8:30 AM and Consolation matches scheduled for 10:30 AM were delayed due to rain. However, the radar indicates a clearing this afternoon, with no new storms headed toward Arlington.
The courts are completely saturated and need time to dry (plus a little wind and maybe some sun), but at this time (11:00 AM), we anticipate play to take place this afternoon. Tentatively, Main Draw matches should plan to check in by 1:45 PM, and Consolation matches should plan to check in by 2:15 PM. Modified scoring will be used for both Main Draw and Consolation matches. PLAYERS ARE WELCOME TO COME EARLY, AS COURTS ARE DRYING FASTER THAN ANTICIPATED. AS OF NOON, WE HAVE A FEW COURTS READY FOR PLAY!
Please note that we will update this information line and the website by 12:30 PM with new information to either confirm matches for today, or to cancel matches if the weather changes again.
Thank you for your patience during the rain delays. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Entries Closed
ALL entries for this event have been closed. No additional Singles or Doubles will be accepted. Thanks, again, to the USTA Texas Section Competitive Department, as well as the Tournament Director and Tournament Staff, for their willingness to work extra hours to complete seeding, draw splits and scheduling in such a short amount of time due to the deadline extension for the hurricane victims in south Texas.
See Competitor list for updated information, including doubles partner adjustments. All entries have been entered, so if the information on the Competitor list is not accurate, contact atc@arlingtontx.gov immediately.
|
|
Deadline Adjustment
For players who have been affected by the recent hurricane in south Texas, we will be extending the on-line deadline by 48 hours, until Thursday, September 18, 11:59 PM on. For those players only, we will also accept phone entries until 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 18. Note that the deadline extension is not for other players who simply failed to register by the original deadline, September 16, 11:59 PM.
Due to the deadline extension, draws may not be posted until Tuesday, September 30, 7:00 PM - one day later than originally planned.
Special thanks are extended to the USTA Competitive Department, as well as the Tournament Director/staff, who will be working extra hours during their limited "off" time to complete seeding, draw splits and tournament scheduling for timely posting.

We must have confirmation from both players. That is, if you list a player's name, and he/she has not indicated playing doubles with you, we cannot place you together as a team.
