Sportsmanship Awards
The tournament staff (officials, site directors, facility staff) are pleased to announce winners of the Sportsmanship awards. The winner of the Clarence Mabry award was presented to David Heckler (Boys' 18sA) of Bellaire, Texas. The player selected for the Nancy Jeffett award was Brett Ellen Keeler (Girls' 18A) of Austin, Texas. David and Brett Ellen demonstrated great sportsmanship on the court and a fun, enthusiastic behavior off court. In addition to the Clarence Mabry and Nancy Jeffett awards, the tournament staff also chose two players to receive tournament sportsmanship awards for their fair play during matches and their positive attitude off the court: Bryce Tracy (Boys' 16C) of Pasadena, Texas, and Elaina Cummer (Girls' 16A) of Plano, Texas. Congratulations to David, Brett Ellen, Bryce and Elaina!

Cancellation
As of 2:00 PM, Monday, August 18, the remainder of the tournament (semis and finals of the main and consolation draws) has been cancelled.
We had anticipated a clearing in the weather by mid afternoon, and we had hoped to complete the tournament using modified scoring. However, the forecast changed after the last update. Small, scattered and isolated storm cells previously visible on the radar merged into a large storm with heavy rains moving toward Arlington. As of 2:00 PM, the weather is expected to become worse, rather than better, throughout the remainder of the day.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience in waiting out the weather issues.
