Sportsmanship Award
Congratulations to Jarrod Wilson of McKinney, Texas, for winning the Arlington Tennis Center ZAT Sportsmanship Award! Jarrod was chosen for this honor because of his great personality on court, and his enthusiasm and positive behavior off court. Jarrod will receive a scholarship for a tennis camp at John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch, in addition to a beautiful acrylic Texas-shaped award from ATC. Congratulations, Jarrod!

Welcome to ATC
Welcome to the Arlington Tennis Center's 2008 ZAT on July 5-6! ATC is a public facility featuring 20 outdoor lighted tennis courts and a full-service proshop. We carry the latest in tennis racquets and other equipment, and we offer prompt stringing service. All of ATC's teaching staff are USPTA certified professionals. Eligibility
This tournament is for all non-qualified Texas resident junior players and Championship level junior players who are in their LAST TWO MONTHS of age eligibility. Players may only compete in one ZAT/CMZ/SCMZ per month. Players may compete in only one event (Singles only).

USTA Membership Required
- Before you enter the tournament, PLEASE CHECK YOUR USTA MEMBER INFORMATION. Your USTA membership info is the official data downloaded and used by the tournament staff.
- Check that your USTA membership is current, your address and TELEPHONE NUMBERS are correct and that you have LISTED ALTERNATE (work and/or mobile) PHONE NUMBERS.
- Junior players should also enter email addresses for each tournament entered.

Entering the Tournament
- All players are encouraged to enter this event on-line through the USTA's TennisLink registration, as on-line registration is the fastest and most secure means of registration.
- Players will receive a confirmation at the end of their on-line registration process.
- All issues with on-line registration should be directed to linkteam@usta.com.
- Players may also enter this tournament via mail. However, entries must be in the hands of the tournament director by the deadline. Tournament staff are not responsible for entries that do not arrive timely via mail.
- Players may enter the tournament in person at Arlington Tennis Center.

Deadline
- The deadline for this tournament is June 20, 11:59 PM.
- Late entries will not be accepted. Please do not wait until the last minute to enter.

Applicants and Competitors
- Players who enter on-line will appear on the list of Applicants.
- If you withdraw after the deadline (but before the draws are posted), your name WILL STILL APPEAR on the Applicant list. We cannot remove your name from the Applicants.
- After the deadline (within 24 hours), the Competitor list will reflect players who are entered in the tournament.
- IF YOU DO NOT SEE YOUR NAME ON EITHER THE COMPETITOR OR THE APPLICANT LIST BY 8:00 AM ON MONDAY, JUNE 23, EMAIL ARLINGTON TENNIS CENTER, atc@arlingtontx.gov, TO ENSURE YOUR ENTRY WAS RECEIVED.

Format
- Format for all ZATs in B&G 12-18s is best of three sets, no ad scoring, with a 10-point match tie-break for third set.
- Format for B&G 10s will be no ad scoring, 8-game prosets, with a tie-break at 8 games all.
- First Match Loser Consolation is required (or completion of Round Robins).
- Players should not come off the court if they split sets. Players should take a set break, and then begin the 10-point match tiebreak.

Draws and Seeding
- Maximum draw sizes is 32 for B&G 12-18s, and 16 for B&G 10s.
- Seeding is based on the latest Standings List provided by the Texas Section, but may include information gathered from rankings, player records and head-to-head encounters.
- If age divisions have more than one draw (e.g., Red, White, Blue), seeds are distributed evenly throughout the draws.
- Draws are computerized, but an effort will be made to separate players in the first round who are from the same town (when possible).
- Draws will be posted Tuesday, July 1, by 8:00 AM.

Players Who Qualify
- Players who qualify may enter the first Championship Major Zone scheduled in the month after qualifying.
- This regulation does not apply to regular tournaments offering a Championship event.
- To enter an "other" tournament (not a Major Zone or Sectionals), entries must be submitted and the entry fee received by the tournament deadline.

Officials and PPS
- All officials for the Arlington Tennis Center ZAT USTA certified officials.
- The tournament referee is Seande Pulley.
- The USTA Code of Conduct and Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced.
- Remember, THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD REGARDING LATENESS FOR FIRST ROUND MATCHES.
- If you have issues on court than cannot be resolved, GET AN OFFICIAL.

Official Ball: Penn
The official tournament balls are Penn Championship Yellow Extra Duty. A new can of balls will be distributed for each match. No new balls are distributed for the match tie-breaks (third set).

Check-in
Players must check in with the site directors at the scheduled sites for EACH MATCH at least 15-30 minutes prior to the scheduled match times. When players check in, they should give the site director a cell phone number at which they can be reached during the tournament (e.g., parent). Remember, players must check themselves in for matches (not parents, coaches, etc.).

Rain Information
- Please call 817-459-6166 for tournament rain information.
- Divisions that begin play will not be refunded, including players affected by defaults or byes.
- Regardless of rain, players are asked to be prepared to play.
- Out of consideration for opponents and tournament staff, please do not "no show" or assume play is cancelled. Penalties will apply for no shows.

Withdrawals
- Withdrawals will be reflected on-line through 6:00 PM, Friday, July 4.
- LATE WITHDRAWALS MAY NOT BE POSTED ON-LINE. We will attempt to contact opponents, but we may not be able to do so in every situation, particularly regarding withdrawals late Friday or early Saturday.
- If withdrawing late (after 4:00 PM Friday), please be considerate of opponents and notify ATC in writing AND via phone BEFORE the tournament begins Saturday morning, as email may not be read "instantly" late Friday, early Saturday or once it begins. Thank you!

Awards
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and Consolation in each draw for Boys' and Girls' 10-18s. All players in B&G 10s will also receive a certificate of participation. One player will also be selected who exhibits outstanding Sportsmanship throughout the tournament, both on and off the court. The Sportsmanship award is a scholarship to attend a camp at John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch.

Racquet Stringing
ATC’s stringing staff is among the most experienced in our area, and we will offer 24-hour service for tournament players during the two-day event. In addition, demo racquets are available for a small fee.

Advance Planning
- Spectators are not allowed on courts at any time.
- No pets are allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside the fenced area around the courts.
- Smoking is not allowed in the proshop/building or inside fenced areas.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).

Water on Courts
Water coolers are not on placed on ATC courts. However, free cups, are available in the proshop, and a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio. In addition, players are welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop. Players may also bring their own water jugs on court. Alternates sites do not have water on the courts.

Cell Phones
Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or in the Tournament room. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones around the courts either at ATC or at alternate sites should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations at ATC. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dress Code
- We ask that all players and spectators at ATC wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment.
- All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens.
- Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well.
- Thank you for your cooperation.

Videotaping
Videotaping by individuals is allowed only for personal use. Videotaping and photography of players other than for those who are related to the person taking the photograph is prohibited.
