Have you ever dared to dream?
Have you ever dared to dream? Of winning the Sectionals? Of going to the Zone Team Championships? How about getting a college scholarship? Imagine the possibilities – your possibilities! Dreaming is like gazing into a mirror that looks into the future. Each time you step into the reflection the image changes into a more real possibility.
Creativity and innovation have never been more essential for personal fulfillment and competitive advantage. This year’s Big Bold Bash is about providing opportunities for you to experience personal and physical enrichment, growth and self-discovery.
We’ve put together some very special programs for junior players, beginning at 12:30 p.m. with a keynote speech by Vic Braden, arguably recognized as the world’s best tennis coach for much of the half century. Box lunches are available for purchase. At 2p.m. Mary Jo Campbell, USTA’s strength and conditioning coach at its high performance center in Carson, CA, will put you through the latest conditioning drills designed especially for junior players. Also at 2 p.m. there is a session with Keith Lee, president of the National Consortium for Academics and Sports, on how to become a leader and role model through sports. Beginning at 3 p.m. Jeff Greenwald will host a session for parents on how to bring out the best in your children as players and people.
At 5 p.m. the wonderful and memorable Kevin Carroll will join us for a session titled, “Rediscovering Play: Bringing Fun and Passion to Your Work and Life.” Once you’ve experienced Kevin, your life will be forever changed, so bring your heart, bring your family and bring your Kleenex! Raised by his grandparents on the “wrong side of the tracks” in Philadelphia, Kevin spent endless hours on the playground where he found his calling: a red rubber ball. His pursuit of play and that red rubber ball became the inspiration for an extraordinary life and career that has taken him on a head-spinning trek around the globe. A reception and book signing will follow.
And finally, to cap off a wonderful day, there will be an awards dinner at 7 p.m. to pay tribute to the best and brightest of 2006. You’re invited to join us as well recognize those who dared first to dream and then turned those dreams into reality by making a personal commitment to excellence.
