OLD CELL PHONE DONATIONS to help the SHUMATE FAMILY!!
Each year the staff and players of Challenger Tennis Academy get together to work together through different tournaments and fundraisers to help a charity. In the past four years, we have worked with the American Heart Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Miami Homeless at the Chapman Center. Our hearts were recently touched by the story of Andrea Shumate a young Mom and tennis lover who lost her battle with sarcoma at the young age of 25 on Memorial Day of this year. Andrea's husband is a Marine who served in Iraq and is now left to raise their two young children on his own. All proceeds from our Cupcake Competition will go to help this young family in memory of Andrea. If you would like to help but do not like to bake, please bring any OLD USED CELL PHONES lying around the house....you can donate them at the tournament and the recycling company will make a donation to our fundraising efforts!! For more information about Andrea and her family, please click on the link.
