Withdrawing from tournament
Tournament will honor refunds if a player withdraws before draws have been posted or by May 4 in accordance with USTA NorCal rules. Refunds will not be offered after that time. Refunds will only be given via check or tournament credit. If draws are posted, refunds are not given for any reason. If you must withdraw while entries are open, it is your responsibility to do it online. Please go to the edit registration link and then click on withdraw. As this tournament is tournament director selection process, you will not be charged at this point. If you must withdraw after draws are posted, please do so in a timely manner. SCU Tennis' goal is to provide the most efficient tournaments in the South Bay, so please be courteous to your opponents. If you must withdraw, please call 408-429-0783 for the tournament desk at SCU and ask for tournament director Jason Scalese and follow up with an email with the reason stating your withdrawal, the event, and first round start time and date to jscalese@scu.edu so we may have it for our records. Lateness penalties will be strictly enforced, if you are running late please contact the above numbers as soon as you are aware that you will not be on time. We will ask our referees to evaluate the tardiness issue before final defaults are made

NTRP Divisions- read carefully
Entry fee includes a commemorative t-shirt and daily snacks and a discount coupon for lunch at Quizno's. Tournament will have top notch awards as well as two of the best referees in NorCal. NTRP Draws may be limited to 16 but we have not had to do that in our first two tournaments. We will try to have draws smaller than 16 starting on Saturday, but we ask that all players registering be prepared to play Friday no matter what the draw size, just in case, alternative scoring may be used but again, we have not had to do this. Larger draws especially Men's 4.0 and Men's 3.5 singles should be prepared to play early PM on Friday. These divisions may need to play 2 matches on Friday. Large categories may be split into two draws in accordance with USTA rules to make it possible for more players to play. All Players may play one singles and one doubles event max. WE CANNOT ACCOMODATE TWO DOUBLES ENTRIES DUE TO COURT SPACE AND OUR DEISRE TO PUT ON A GREAT ONE WEEKEND TOURNAMENT. Players playing singles and doulbes must play the same NTRP division. You may play singles in NTRP and play family doubles. NTRP singles players wishing to play doubles must play NTRP or family doubles. Also, please be sure to have both doubles partners register online to limit our check collection needs.

Family Divisions- SCU Offers opportunity for all levels
By definition, USTA recognizes Family events as open events. You will find players of all ages and abilities. However at SCU we have tried to make things more fair for everyone. If you register for a family doubles event, you are also invited to play NTRP or Senior singles. We cannot however accomodate two doubles events for players.
If you feel you are capable of playing an "open" type category with players who are more experienced as adults and juniors, we encourage you to register for Father-Son, Grandfather/Grandson, Mother-Daughter, Mother-Son, Father-Daughter and sibling events.
However, if you are a parent and child looking for a more intermediate level (Mother/Father/Grandfather/Son/Daughter/Grandson) then we recommend you register for the Parent-Child division. We are offering this as an attempt to provide a more novice/intermediate level for family participants. Yes, this means that father-son teams could be playing mother-daugther teams etc... If you are registering for this division, your main focus should be fun with family, and not rankings. We ask you not to register if you do not plan on playing consolation, if we can offer it we will. If you have questions email jscalese@scu.edu we will restrict the Parent-Child to pairings we feel fit the above description. TENNIS LINK IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THE PARENT CHILD EVENT, IF YOU WANT TO SIGN UP FOR THIS, PLEASE JUST EMAIL JSCALESE@SCU.EDU AND I WILL MANUALLY ENTER YOU.

No Schedule Request Accomodated
Large draws will start early Friday afternoon. No matter the size of the draw, play is possible for the larger draws, men's open singles, men's NTRP singles on Friday, some earlier than others. We understand that not everyone can play at every time. Because we will exceed 250 entries in each of our tournaments, we ask that you not register if you cannot play any time this weekend, including Friday afternoon for the draws mentioned above. We will not accomodate any schedule request and will not refund entries if you cannot play your start time after draws are posted. Please be fair to those who can play the whole weekend as we may need to turn away entries. Thanks!

Tournament Director Selection Process- What does this mean?
We prefer to use this process for several reasons. First, your credit card is not charged until we select the entries which means even after entries close, there is a period in which you can withdraw without losing your money or needing a refund. Second, if our draws exceed our potential, we can limit them in accordance with USTA rules, however we have not had to do this yet, but it does give us protection. Third, if a division does not get enough entries to be held (3) we can not process those entries, eliminating the need for a refund.
