PRACTICE COURTS UPDATE!!
Due to the constant threat of afternoon thunderstorms, all courts at LCTC main site will be used for matchplay beginning at 8:30AM. Practice courts at the main site are available daily prior to the start of matchplay from 7:00AM to 8:15AM.
Sufficient practice courts will be available at Topspin Racquet and Swim Club. Ball Park Tennis Courts and Airport High School. Check with the tournament desk for directions to the off site practice courts.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of tournament registration. Please download and bring this completed with you or fax to us (803-951-3556) to speed up the registration process. Players are not allowed on court without this signed release:

ENTRY - ELIGIBILITY - ALTERNATES
All Players must enter through TennisLink Online Registration. Selection is by state quota by State Endorsers.
ALTERNATES: All players not selected for the main draw are listed on the Alternates List by Southern Ranking, and selected to enter the main draw if/when there is a player Withdrawal. Players on the Alternate List should check their standing no later than Noon June 11th and check daily thereafter.
Players not selected by Wednesday may come to the tournament Saturday as a Stand By Alternate in
case of last minute withdrawals, or come to play Doubles Sunday.
**** If you are an alternate, please make sure the tournament director has accurate contact information so that you may be contacted when needed.

WITHDRAWALS
Prior to the deadline Players should withdraw Online. After the deadline players needing to withdraw should notifiy the tournament immediately by calling 803-957-7676, and email ASAP their official withdrawal to lctc@alltel.net or fax to 804-951-3556. Please be prompt if you must withdraw because Alternates are waiting to enter the tournament and need to know quickly to make plans.

REGISTRATION - PLAYERS MEETING REQUIRED
Registration begins 4:00PM Friday June 13 at the Lexington County Tennis Complex. The Mandatory Players Meeting will begin at 6:00PM. All players are expected to attend this important meeting, especailly Seeded Players.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Boys and Girls SINGLES will be a COMPASS DRAW limited to 64 entries. This type of draw places the losers of each round in a separate consolation so that ALL Players will play 4 Singles Matches. All Players will play Singles on Saturday, Sunday and MONDAY. Singles matches will be 2 regular tiebreak sets with a 10 Point Tiebreak as the third set if needed. Doubles will be a First Match Loser Consolation draw limited to 32 entries with matches being an 8 game pro-set with a 7 point tiebreak at 8 games all.

TOURNAMENT PHOTOGRAPHER ON SITE
Bill Ward of Ace Sports and Action Photogrphy will be on site as the Tournament Photographer. He did an excellent job last year and parents were pleased with his work. He will have a display on site and you can get more information at his website www.compuchild.info.

DOUBLES PLAY ENCOURAGED
All Players are encouraged to play Doubles. The tournament provides very nice trophies for the Doubles Winners and Finalists. You may enter online with or without a partner, and partners do not have to be from the same state. The tournament committee will try to find partners for all who want to play doubles. TO PLAY DOUBLES YOU MUST SIGN UP AT THE TOURNAMENT DESK NO LATER THAN SATURDAY 4:00PM. If you signed up online, double check that you are entered in doubles with tournament desk by Saturday 4:00PM.

SEEDING AND DRAWS
Seeding will be done by USTA Southern Section, and Draws will not be posted online before Thursday, June 12, at 1:00PM.

VIDEOS OF MATCHES BY * HIGH-TECH TENNIS*
HIGH-TECH TENNIS (from Atlanta, GA) will be on site for the entire tournament to offer FOUR MATCH RECORDING PACKAGES. Kids are visual learners, and Video is an EXCELLENT teaching tool (and a wonderful momento), and SEEING IS BELIEVING.
We will be using six high speed video cameras, and so will assign them on first come, first served basis for rounds and matches during each day. Reserve early if possible. Check the web site link for information, or email info@high-techtennis.com, or call 678-640-2723.

USTA RULES OF PLAY
The rules and regulations of the USTA will be followed, and excellent sportsmanship as well excellent tennis ability, will be emphasized and recognized. USTA officials and court monitors will be at courtside to assist as needed. The tennis balls for the tournament will the USPTA Pro Penn Hardcourt Extra Duty balls. Three balls to start the matches, and no new balls for A 10 point tiebreak game if players split the first two sets of singles.

WEATHER FORMAT
If inclement weather delays play such that the tournament cannot be completed on time, the tournament committee may implement short format scoring to finish the competition. Players and Parents will be promptly notified of any changes in times or play caused by inclement weather.

TROPHIES AND AWARDS
A Sportsmanship Award will be presented to the Boy and Girl exhibiting the best Sportsmanship during the tournament. Players, Parents and tournament officials may submit nominees to the tournament desk. Trophies will be awarded to the top four finishers in the Main Draw and to the Winners and Finalists of the Consolation Draws. A Player Participation Medal will be presented to all players to commemorate participating the Southern 10s at Lexington County Tennis Complex in Lexington, South Carolina.

SITE - FACILITIES
All matches will be played at the award winning Lexington County Tennis Complex, a state of the art facility featuring 21 lighted courts, a stadium court, shower and locker rooms, a pro shop with stringing available, a snack shop and the TENNIS CHANNEL. DOUBLES SUNDAY SCHEDULE*
Doubles pairs and seeds will be posted online in the Players by Event Report. The doubles draw will be made by 11AM Sunday and doubles matches will not begin before 1:30PM. Check for your times at the tournament desk after your Sunday singles match. Notify the tournament desk if there are any questions about the pairings or the seedings.

TENNIS BALLS
Tennis Balls used in the matches will be ProPenn. Three balls for two regular sets and match tiebreak. No new balls for tiebreak games in lieu of third sets.

Entries and Selections: All players must enter through the
TennisLink Online Registration. Players may enter only one division
even though each age division is at a different site and listed as
a separate tournament on the schedule. Players should play in the
age division they are seeking Southern Endorsement. Fourteen of the
selections will be based on the most current Southern Standings of
the age division only. (No selections based on the younger age
group). All other selections are based on the quotas and
endorsements of the States. Make a link to the selection process on
your home page of your tournament.
Players are selected from a designated Section or District ranking list.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Friday, June 6, 2008 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
