Courtside Junior Championship

We will be using the following sites for our tournament; Courtside Club - "CC" - 14675 Winchester Blvd, Los Gatos, 95032 DeAnza Community College - "DEA" - 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino 95014 Blossom Hill Park - "BHP" - 16400 Blossom Hill Rd, Los Gatos, 95030 Lynbrook High School - "LYN" - 1280 Johnson Ave, San Jose, 95129 West Valley College - "WV" - 14000 Fruitvale Ave, Saratoga, 95070

Please submit all withdrawals by email tot he Referee - Gordon Collins at gcollins@courtsideclub.com. If you are contacting the referee to withdraw after noon on Sept 21st, please also call 408-656-5706 along with your email.

Any player withdrawing prior to Sunday, Sept 16th will be entitled to a refund.

We would like to thank the following companies for so generously supporting our tournament; The Saviano Co., Head/Penn and Playmate Ball Machines.

If you have signed up for Doubles without a partner, please notify us by Thursday, Sept 13th at 5:00pm with whom you intend to play with. At this time, we will just pair up the individuals who still do not have a partner.

ALL scheduled matches for the first weekend (Sept 22nd & 23rd) are now posted. If the days/times are not posted, that means it will be played on the 2nd weekend. We plan on having the matches for the 2nd weekend posted by Wednesday afternoon, Sept 19th.

Due to the potential rain on Saturday, we will be updating the status of the tourney every hour on the hour starting at 6:00am. The Phone number to call (after 7:15am) is 408-395-7116. Let's hope for a beautiful day!

Unfortunately - the rain that we badly needed decided to come down just about an hour ago. All matches at West Valley, Blossom Hill Park, Lynbrook High & DeAnza College have been postponed for 2 hours. So, if you were scheduled at West Valley at 8:00am - your new official time is 10:00am. For the matches scheduled at Courtside - they are still on - since our first rounds were set to go off at noon. We are certainly hoping to get most of today's matches played - THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!

Well, the rain has stopped - so we are still on for the delay mentioned in the 4:45am update

It has not rained for the past 1.5 hours - so we are looking good for just the 2 hour delay.

It is raining again, there is now a 3 hour delay from your original start time.

We are currently experiencing some drizzle - we are now making it a 4 hour delay. Anyone who is scheduled for a match at or after 2:00pm today will have their match rescheduled for Sunday. Those times will be determined on how the weather treats us the rest of the day. Thanks again for your patience!

The rain is coming down in a heavier fashion. A clarification on the earlier update. For those of you playing at Courtside - you are now on a 2 Hour delay. Other sites - you are on a 4 Hour rain delay. Thanks again for your patience!!

Folks - it's really starting to rain hard here. The official word is that we are now on a 5 hour delay at all sites outside of Courtside (which is on a 2 hour delay). Anyone who had a match originally scheduled after 1:00pm (at WV, BHP, Lyn & Dea) - those matches have been cancelled for the day.

It's starting to look pretty bleak for the entire day - if you haven't noticed! Right now we are on a 6 hour Rain Delay - so all matches starting at 8:00am are scheduled for 2:00pm. The matches scheduled at Courtside are on a 3 Hour rain delay. Sure appreciate your support and patience during this challenging time. We will make our decision on whether to cancel all the day's matches at 12:30pm. Thanks!

Folks - we are now on a 7 hour delay - which means that we are only scheduling 8:00am & 9:30 rounds. Everyone scheduled after 9:45am - your matches are now postponed for the day (the Courtside matches are delayed for 3 hours ) We will be making our decision at 1:00pm as to whether to cancel the entire day's matches.

Well, you've all been VERY PATIENT - but we are going to cancel the rest of the matches for today. The rain has subsided - but we still have a slight drizzle. The new times for Sunday (9/23) will be posted by 2:30pm. Thank you again for your cooperation - it is greatly appreciated! As a heads up - we will be postponing many of the doubles matches for tomorrow afternoon - and replacing them with Singles.

Well, I certainly want to thank all of you for your understanding on this challenging day. It is 4:00pm - raining buckets - but the forecast for tonight is GOOD! So, we plan on starting up at 8:00am. I will post a weather update around 5:30am - just in case. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT DAY OF TENNIS TOMORROW!!!!

Well, I am thrilled to say that it is a BEAUTIFUL morning!! However, due to the rains yesterday, we have decided to play a Match Tie Breaker for the 3rd set. Also, plese check the draws one more time, since times & locations have changed from what was published earlier in the week. Enjoy the Day!!

Thank you so much for your flexibility & patience over these past few days! Now, we have to try to secure more courts for next weekend, due to the loss of last Saturday. I doubt that I will be able to get the sites confirmed and update the times until Tuesday night - so once again I'm asking for your patience. We had some GREAT TENNIS today & sportsmanship - it was a pleasure to direct the event!

Folks, we have been able to secure one extra site for the weekend - bringing us to 36 courts, but we really need another 8 courts to get us thru all the matches that we would like to. ( We are trying to schedule two rounds of Singles & Doubles for all divisions) I will be doing my best to secure them this afternoon. The new times for this coming weekend will be posted tomorrow (Wed) by 8:00am. Thank you again for your patience!

Folks, we were able to secure another 14 courts (not all for the full day) but we can now get at least one round in for all draws and two rounds in some. Many of the Doubles will be played "Under the Light" here at Courtside. The times for Sunday the 30th will be posted by 8:00am on Thursday (which most likely play Singles in the am & Doubles in the afternoon. Because of our loss of play last Saturday, we will not be able to complete all draws. We will distribute the Tournament Trophies out in some system (not determined yet)! Thank you again for your patience and flexibility - it is certainly appreciated!

This is a National Level 5 tournament and is open to players from all sections.
