Michigan District is stopping all USTA programming including, but
not limited to Adult Leagues, tournaments, and Junior Team Tennis
from November 18 - December 20, 2020.NO CREDIT CARDS WERE CHARGED

Men and Women NTRP District Qualifier
18 & Over Singles & Doubles (3.0-5.0)
50 & Over Singles & Doubles (3.0-4.5)
All Doubles will be played on Saturday (Dec 19th) and Singles
will be played on Sunday (Dec 20th) at the Deer Lake Athletic Club
in Clarkston, Michigan. Match times will be posted online by
December 17, 2020.
If there are less than 3 people in a division then those people
will automatically move forward to the next level.
Entry Fees:
All Singles: $35 + processing fee
All Doubles: $35 + processing fee
Maximum fee for 2 events: $65 + processing fee
This tournament is limited to players residing in the USTA
Southeastern Michigan District.
No self-rated players, only computer rated players. NTRP
Validation same as the USTA Sectional and National NTRP
Championships. A player will use their current NTRP rating as of
the start of the District Qualifier. No self-rated players will be
allowed to enter.
All of the following ratings will be accepted:
* 2018 or 2019 Year-End computer Rating (or "C" rating) * If you do
not have a 2018 or 2019 Year-End Computer Rating you may qualify
with your 2017 Year-End Computer Rating * If you do not have a 2017
Year-End Computer Rating, you may qualify with your 2016 Year-End
Computer Rating. * 2017, 2018 or 2019 Year-End Tournament Exclusive
Rating (or "T" rating) * Appeal ratings ("A") are treated as ("C"
rating) * Self-ratings ('S') and Mixed ratings ('M') do not
qualify. * If a player has a "T" rating, but then self-rates, we
will allow that player to play using their "T" rating, even though
that "T" rating is not published anymore.
_DRAW FORMAT
_Maximum draw size per NTRP Division is 16. Draws with less than
3-players will not be scheduled.
_Each division will consist of four, 4-player round robin draws
that will play off into single elimination draws to select the
District winner and alternate.
_Match Format
_Best of three Fast Four sets
_Scoring Format:
_First to 4 Games wins the set;
_Set Tiebreaker at 3 Games All
_Tiebreaker:
_First to 5 points
_2 points serving each (starting deuce side)
_Change ends once only after 4 points
_If tiebreak reaches 4-4, it's "next point wins" the set:
_- players do not switch sides
_- players come to net for a racquet spin; winner of spin decides
to serve or receive and receiver chooses side the point is
played.
_The winner in each NTRP Division will receive an endorsement to
play in the Midwest Section Championships in February 2021.
Location and dates TBD. Winners and runners-up are encouraged to
register for the Midwest Section Championship. Alternates may be
selected for the draw if there are open slots.
_Players may register for both singles and doubles events based on
their NTRP Computer Rating. Players may not play below their NTRP
Computer Rating.
_Players and teams registered for the 18 & Over NTRP Qualifier
Events are ineligible to register for the 50 & Over NTRP
Qualifier Events.
Player Selection TypePlayers are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Monday, December 7, 2020 6:00:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
