The 2020 52nd Mountain View Open has been cancelled for this year
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Mountain View Open has been cancelled for 2020. We considered the idea of rescheduling the tournament, but in addition to the uncertainty of what kind of tournament would be allowed by the USTA as well as by the state and county, we would need a long weekend in order to complete the tournament. Not only that, but with the classes we have to schedule around, we just couldn't figure out a way to hold it at a different time. So no Mountain View Open this year, but we still plan on holding it next year. We hope to see you then.
We would also like to announce that we are starting a partnership with Matt McCormick Estates Team for the 2021 Mountain View Open. Matt is a successful real estate agent, and was a ball boy for the Mountain View Open way back when. He would like to see the tournament grow, so he has pledged to donate $5000 to the Mountain View Open for every referral that buys or sells a house through him. He will donate at the close of escrow. We will be able to use this money to make the Mountain View Open a better tournament (more prize money and amenities for the players as well as things we can do for spectators, officials, and volunteers). You can keep an eye on the Mountain View Open web site (http://mvopen.com) or the Mountain View Tennis Facebook page for more info. We will be posting updates soon. We hope all of use can be back on the courts soon!!

Schedule Requests We will do our best to accommodate schedule requests, but we can't make any guarantees. We will do our best to keep all matches to the weekends (and Memorial Day Monday), but if the draw gets too large or there is inclement weather, we may have to play some matches on the Fridays. In 2018, we were able to completely avoid playing on Fridays.

Parking There is free parking on site. If the parking lot is full, there is free street parking across the street from the entrance to the parking lot.
|
Email and phone number Please provide your email and phone information when registering online; otherwise, the tournament will not be able to contact you. The USTA does not provide member contact information to the tournament because of the USTA's privacy policy.

Limited Draws This is a limited draw tournament only because we have a theoretical limit on the number of matches we can play. The draw limits are 164 for men's singles, 64 for women's singles, 64 teams for men's doubles, and 32 teams for mixed doubles. We have never had to turn away players due to the draw limits so far.

Official Tournament Ball We are excited to announce that the Mountain View Open will once again be using the Wilson RF Legacy Ball endorsed by Roger Federer.

First Round Play
We will do everything in our power to avoid the two Fridays of the tournament. They are there in case of rain (or other factors) or if the draw size of the men's singles is larger than 100 players.
Men's Open Singles - If the draw is larger than 100, the first round may start as early as Friday, May 15, 2020. But if it is less than 100, it will start no earlier than Saturday, May 16, 2020. If their is a significant chance that there will be a lot of rain the second weekend, we may start matches on Friday, May 15 even if the draw isn't over 100.
Women's Open Singles - will start no earlier than Sunday, May 17, 2020.
Men's Open Doubles - will start no earlier than Saturday, May 16, 2020.
