COVID-19 Procedures
COVID-19 PROCEDURESThe USTA has some requirements and recommendations for both players and tournament directors/staff:
David LeMair Tennis will do our best to: *Encourage players to check in from cars or a distanced area via text so we have as few number of people on site as possible.*Encourage one spectator per player if possible. We will do our best to remind spectators to stay distanced.*Encourage everyone to wear masks when social distancing is not possible. Players will not be expected to wear masks while they are playing but should wear them to the tournament desk and onto and off of the court.*Do our best to keep everyone separate. For example, at the desk we will use the ends of the table for checking in, going over the match format, distributing tennis balls, and reporting scores after the match ends. We will have spots marked on the ground for where people should stand, just like seen in the grocery stores.*Distribute a different number of balls to each player so each player has his own three balls.*Designate one player only to flip the scorecards.*Mark/show players where to be on court during the changeover (at least 10 feet apart).*Keep the entry gates open as much as possible so players do not touch gates to enter and exit.*Clean as often/as much as possible. Scorecards will be cleaned, gate latches will be cleaned, etc.*Encourage tournament staff and players to not attend if they are feeling ill or have a fever.*Provide some hand sanitizer. USTA is also encouraging players to bring their own as well as their own tissues to open gates, etc and their own trash bags. If you have any questions about specific procedures, please contact Teresa at teresalemair@aol.com
