No official delay
Hi, it is Monday the 3rd at 6a and the conditions are not foggy this am. Some of the back drops may need a little extra time drying but there is no official delay and your check in time remains the same. Good luck and congrats on making it to the final day of the tournament! Good luck!

Attention all players
Hi all players, the draws indicate that there will be a 7th place playoff but that is not correct. Those draws will be taken down and not played. We will playoff for 3rd and 5th.

No fog delay today so far!
Hi all, It is Sunday the 2nd after 6a and the sun has not come up yet. There is very little fog and the courts are dry at both sites as of now. If the fog rolls in we will update immediately. Currently there is no delay!

Fog delay
Hi, it is Saturday the 1st at 1p, All CVH matches are delayed 2 hours from their original start times. All 2 p and later matches at Clayton Valley are delayed only 1 hour from their original start start times. Lafayette Tennis Club matches are sticking with the 1 hour delay. All CVH matches that are boys 14s will now be 8 game pro sets and all second round boys 12 matches at Clayton Valley are also 8 game pro sets. Also, all LTC second round matches in the 12s and 14s will be 8 game pro sets. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to go back to regular formats. Thanks again for you patience during the weird fog delay!

Fog delay
Hi all, It is Saturday the 1st at after 1130 a. All matches at CVH are delayed 2 hours from their original start times. Please try to arrive early for your 2nd round matches as we are shortening the format to 8 game pro sets reg scoring 7pt tie at 8 all. Lafayette Tennis Club will stick to its 1 hour delay and also all second round matches will be shortened to 8 game pro sets. Thanks for your patience during the delays. We may switch back to the regular formats tomorrow depending on if we get more fog or not. This message will not be updated until tomorrow am early.

Fog delay
Hi all, it is Saturday the 1st after 9a and the fog has rolled in thicker to Clayton Valley. All Clayton Valley High matches are delayed 2 hours from their original start times. All LTC matches are still only delayed 1 hour from their original match times. The format for all 14s is changed to 2 out 3 with a match tie break reg scoring. We will update on more possible match format changes after 11a if we need to take further steps. The fog should be lifting soon and we should be able to start playing on more courts at Clayton soon. Thanks for your patience during this unexpected delay!

Fog delay
Hi all it is Saturday the 1st after 8a. The fog just rolled in heavy at The Clayton site. All matches at both sites are no delayed one hour from their original start times. Hopefully the fog will lift soon. Please ck the tournament home page at 9a to confirm the 1 hour delay. Sorry about this as we know many of you are en route! The courts were dry at Clayton and now they are not. Lafayette is drying up and matches are starting to go on there Match formats may change at Clayton Valley High.

Fog delay at Lafayette only
Hi all, it is Saturday the 1st after 630a and the fog is not letting up early in Lafayette. Some of the back drops need a couple hours to dry and hopefully the fog will lift quickly. All Lafayette Tennis Club matches are delayed 1 hour from their original start time. We will stick with this delay and will not update again unless the fog rolls back in. The forecast is for the fog to go away soon. Thanks for your patience during the delay. Safety is our top priority! Again, all Clayton Valley high matches are not delayed.

Attention all players
It is Saturday the 1st at about 630a and the sun is coming up. Some fog rolled in at the Lafayette site but it has not made the courts wet enough for an official delay. Same with Clayton Valley Charter High. The back drops on some of the courts are damp at this point but hopefully will dry by 8a. The Clayton site also has no delay. We will update this if the fog gets worse or we have to do an official delay.

Tournament Information
Draw Size: 32 players
Singles Draw Format: Full feed in thru the round of 16
Match Format: Singles- BG 16-18 MAIN DRAW - 2 out of 3 sets regular scoring CONSOLATION - 2 out of 3 sets with 10pt tiebreak in lieu of 3rd (Still regular scoring)
Selection: Championship tournaments select players with the highest ranking from the most recently published Combined Sectional Final Ranking List. All players not selected shall be placed on an Alternate List that is ordered using the same list used to select.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURES Please check in at the tournament desk at least 15 minutes before your scheduled match time. Please go to the bathroom, fill your water bottle, etc. before you check in. Players are expected to check and comply with all scheduling done by the Tournament Committee.
LATE ENTRIES Pursuant to USTA Regulations, late entries shall be placed on the bottom of the alternate list in the order received. Late entries received at the same time will be ordered by lot. To submit a late entry, email the player’s name, USTA number, division of entry, email address and cell phone number to Hunter Gallaway - contact information is above.
WITHDRAWALS PRIOR TO ENTRY DEADLINE Prior to entries closing, a player may withdraw and automatically receive a refund of your entry fee by clicking on the "Withdrawal" link that is in the Edit Registration box at the top right of this page.
WITHDRAWALS AFTER ENTRY DEADLINE If you would like to withdraw after the deadline but before the draws are made please email your players full name and age group to hunterhg@comcast.net. We will not put you in the draw. If the draws are already made then do the same thing but make sure to list your reason for your withdraw. An excused withdraw is due to Illness, Injury or personal circumstance. No refunds will be given after the deadline.
BALL TYPE Each match will be played with three US Open Wilson balls. New balls will be provided if a match goes to a third set.
DRESS CODE Appropriate tennis attire is required at all times. Only shoes with non-marking soles are permitted.
TOURNAMENT EVALUATIONS We highly recommend that you complete an evaluation of the Championship. Annual feedback from our participants is the best way for us to continue to improve the quality of the event for everyone. You will need your USTA membership number to complete the evaluation.

Directions to Lafayette Tennis Club, LTC
For directions to the Lafayette Tennis Club (3125 Camino Diablo, Lafayette, CA 94549, (925) 937-2582), please use the following link to Yahoo maps --> Off of the 24 take the Pleaseant Hill Rd exit North, rt on Stanley then Right on Camino Diablo. You will see our exit sign first. Keep going and you will hit our entrance sign, then turn right down a steep drive. We are located in a hidden glen. Make sure to allow ample time for traffic. We are located close to the freeway so it is an easy drive for most players. Make sure that you are playing at the LTC before you drive to the CLub! We also use Clayton Valley High School as our alternate site. Lateness Penalties will be strictly enforced!!!

New Alternate site!!!!
Attention all players, make sure to check in directly to the Lafayette Tennis Club or Cayton Valley Charter High School for your match. We will be using Clayton Valley High School on the first Saturday of the tournament. If you arrive at the Lafayette Tennis Club and your match is scheduled at Clayton Valley Charter High then you will be defaulted if you do not get to the correct site on time. All lateness penalties wil be strictly enforced. When you check for your start times, make sure to note what site that you are scheduled to play at!! Good Luck and Refuse to Lose!!!! Directions to Clayton Valley Charter High School, CVH
If you are assigned to play at the Clayton Valley High School site, please check in directly to the site 15 minutes before your match. Clayton Valley Charter High School is about ten miles from the Lafayette Tennis Club. 1101 Alberta Way, Concord, CA 94521. Practice courts will not be open at this site. Please enter the second driveway where the courts are and then goto the tournament desk by the main bleachers to check in. The locker rooms and or bathrooms will be open for your convenience. Please check with the referee to point you in the right direction for the bathroom. When you check your start time make sure to check the site location. Lateness penalties will be strictly enforced!

Practice courts
During the tournament no practice courts will be open at any of the sites for warm up except before 8am.. If you are playing at St Marys College then Miramonte High in Orinda at 750 moraga way or Campolindo High in Moraga at 300 moraga rd will be the warm up sites. Acalanes High School is a stones throw away from the Lafayette Tennis Club club and is open to the public. We recommend this warm up site if you are playing at LTC. The address is 1200 Pleasant Hill Rd. Take the Pleasant Hill rd exit North and continue on Pleasant Hill until you see the courts on your right hand side. The Lafayette Tennis Club is a 2 minute car ride away. If you are playing at Blackhawk then San Ramon Valley High in Danville at 501 Danville blvd will be your warm up site. Again, there will be no warm up courts at any of the sites except before 8am. All warm ups need to be completed by 745a at all sites.

Rain delay info and hotline!
Please check this section of the notes to stay up to date on a possible delay. We will not cancel a day before noon due to the rules. We have lights at all of the sites, so plan on playing under them if we experience delays due to rain. We may have different delays for different sites. The format may change if we experience a delay. The rain hotline is 925 9372582. Please only call this # in case of an emergency or if you are en route to a site and it begins to rain. If you are driving from more than 2 hrs out then you may call the director directly. Unfortunately, usually we will not be able to start a delay more than 2 hrs before the first match times. If it is raining Friday before the tournament we may start a delay Friday night after 8p. So please check this section before going to bed on Friday night if the weather looks iffy! The forecast for the tournament looks pretty dry!

Dress Code
Proper tennis attire is required on the courts at all times. Collared shirts are not required. All running shoes including non marking running shoes ar prohibited. Black soled shoes except for barricades and other tennis shoes are prohibited as well. You will be defaulted if you cannot find a replacement pair of shoes within 15 minutes after your match time. This rule will be strictly enforced, no exceptions. Shorts, skirts or sweats with pockets or some system to hold an extra ball is required. No cuttoff jeans are allowed on the courts. If you look good on the court you will play better!!!
