USTA/Midwest COVID-19 Safety Procedures
The doubles division has been cancelled.
The COVID-19 procedures and policies in place by the USTA/Midwest Section for this event are as follows: * First and foremost, if you are not feeling well, please withdraw from the event. If you are a spectator and not feeling well, please stay home. * Player +1 for the entire event. Only one person is going to be allowed with each player. * The water fountains will not be accessible for the duration of the event. Please bring plenty of water for matches. * Social distancing will be strongly encouraged in addition to wearing a face mask. * We encourage bringing your own chair to watch any matches outdoors. * Do not enter the facility until 10-15 minutes before your scheduled match time. * There will be no handshakes at the conclusion of matches. * Once match results have been turned in, we request you leave the facility immediately. Only players are to approach the tournament desk. Please keep a safe distance when doing so. * All tournament staff will be wearing masks.

COVID Level Update
Due to cancellations at both the National and Sectional Level, Sections were given additional high level events to host so this event has been changed from a Midwest Level 3 to a Midwest Level 1, with National Level 3 singles points.

COVID – 19 RULES and EXPECTATIONS for UINDY TENNIS CENTER
If the player or anyone who will accompany the player has been exposed to
someone with COVID, please withdraw from the event. If the player or accompanying
spectator are not feeling well, or experiencing ANY COVID symptoms (see below),
please withdraw from the event and stay home. If you have an outstanding
COVID-19 test, please stay home. (COVID symptoms-cough, sore throat,
fever, chills, muscle pain, loss of sense of smell or taste, fatigue, headache,
congestion or runny nose, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and/or shortness of
breath)
UIndy Clubhouse/couches will be off limits and NOT accessible to players or
their family members between or during matches. Family members must wait
in their cars or hotels/homes prior to matches and between matches. The ice
machine will not be available for use. There is a water dispenser in the lobby.
Spectators may only use the bleachers on either end of the club to sit,
being mindful of social distancing. Benches located behind the curtains will
ALWAYS be off limits. Players will sit on opposite benches. Only the
player on side of scoring device will change the score on changeovers.
SPECTATORS WILL BE LIMITED TO 1 PER PLAYER so that social distancing may be
observed. NO siblings will be allowed to be with a spectator. NO EXCEPTIONS! Colored wrist bands will be used for spectators. IF you do not have a
wristband on, you will be asked to leave the premises. The USTA MIDWEST and
CITA have authorized giving suspension points if this is not followed.
ALL players and spectators MUST wear masks to enter the building and
court/spectator area. Hand sanitizer will be at the entry of the building
and must be used before entering. Temperature checks will be taken at the
front desk before being allowed to enter the court area. Spectators MUST
wear masks the entire time they are in the building/spectator area.
Players may take off masks while playing but must wear masks upon finishing
match to exit the court area.
When match is finished, players do NOT shake hands. A touch of the racquets
is acceptable. Players should bring used balls to the tournament desk when
match is complete.
U Indy personnel will be responsible for sanitizing the benches, scoring
devices, and net strap between each match.
Restrooms will only be available to players during their match, if
necessary. Restrooms will not be available to spectators. Please use the restroom
before arriving for your match.
Players will check in at the front desk at least 15 minutes prior to match
time. Temperature checks of player and spectator will be taken and wrist band
given. You will then be told to wait outside until told to report to their
court and get balls.
All staff will wear masks and stay 6 feet from players. Officials on court
will stay 6 feet from players.
Players will report scores to the tournament desk and get next match times
before exiting the facility.

Important USTA 2021 Changes
The USTA will be launching a new, simplified nationwide junior tournament competitive structure in January, 2021. These changes will create a standardized system that will drive greater consistency for our players, parents, coaches, tournament directors and officials. These changes will help better address the needs of all our constituents with the goals of driving growth in USTA Junior Tournaments. PLAYER SELECTION & SEEDING
This tournament will use Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for player selection and seeding. Players will be selected for the tournament in the following order: 32 Players based on a 100% reliable UTR.
Players will be seeded for the tournament in the following order: All 8 seeds are done using UTR. If you have questions regarding player selection and/or seeding, please contact the USTA/Midwest Section office at jrtourney@midwest.usta.com

POINTS PER ROUND

MATCH SCORING/DRAW SIZE
Feed-in consolation draw (through the Quarterfinals). All matches are best of three tie-break sets with a 10-point tie-breaker in lieu of a 3rd set. 32 FICQ

PRACTICE COURTS!
Practice courts will be available Friday, 11/27, from 4-8 p.m. by reservation. They are also available Saturday and Sunday mornings 6-8 a.m. if reserved by calling and mentioning the tournament. Courts may only be reserved in hour increments and the cost is $28/hr.

TOURNAMENT FEES
1) If your credit card has been declined, please contact the tournament director immediately. You have until noon Monday to pay the entry fee. The tournament director has the option to withdraw you from the competitors list if you have not communicated with them. 2) No refunds after player selection.
