DRAWS LIMITED TO 16
Please note each division is limited to a draw of 16 players. There will not be a second alternate draw. We will only accept the first 16 register. There is however a Challenger division in each age division. If you are a beginner player please register in the challenger division. Please contact me for questions. Once we reach 16 players, registrations will continue to be accepted but will be placed on an alternate list. You can choose to wait for a spot or play in another division if possible. Your card will not be charged until registration is complete and if you are accepted as the first 16.

GUARANTEED 4 MATCHES W/ FULL DRAW
This tournament is a compass draw, meaning there is no elimination. Win or Lose, players can plan on playing 2 matches each day. See below for instructions on the compass draw. If your draw does not have a full draw we will still do our best to get you the most matches possible.

DOUBLES
Please contact me if you would like to play doubles but do not have a partner. I am happy to help you find one. You will still be able to register online without a partners USTA #. Doubles will be played on Friday and Saturday evening and will not interfere with singles.

REFUNDS/WEATHER REFUNDS
Refunds will be given to those who withdraw before draws are posted. Please keep in mind that even though the draws are not out we may be working on them already. Please give as much notice as possible. Refunds after draws are posted will only be given in special circumstances. In the case of unplayable weather, refunds will only be given if the tournament is not able to start. We will do our best to play matches if possible. There are NO indoor courts in St. George. Please note if you are an alternate you will not be charged unless you are placed in the main draw.

RESCHEDULING
Due to the limited number of courts and tight schedule, we will not be able to change match times. Please be available to play singles matches with a start time of Friday and Saturday between 8am-4pm and for doubles Friday and Saturday between 4pm-9pm. We appreciate your patience on this.

SPECTATOR CONDUCT POLICY
Telford Tennis Tournaments WILL NOT tolerate these behaviors.
As a spectator of a participant in USTA-sanctioned tennis tournament in the Utah
District, you are under a “duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct,
fair play, and good sportsman ship.” USTA Regulation IV.C(1).
In addition, you are “under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered
detrimental to the game of tennis.” USTA Regulation IV.C(1).
In all Utah District tennis tournaments, the following acts are prohibited before, during,
and after each match, engagement in such actions, will be subject to the penalties listed below.
1. Addressing an opponent in a negative manner, including any references to the
opponent’s line calls, behavior, or anything else.
2. Addressing the parent or other representative of a junior opponent, or an adult players
spectator, in a negative manner.
3. Addressing an official, tournament director or tournament representative in a negative
manner.
4. Coaching during a match except as permitted by the USTA Rules.
5. Otherwise engaging in any abusive conduct that is detrimental to the game of tennis.
Engaging in any of these prohibited acts, will cause a grievance to be submitted to the UTA
Grievance Committee for review and spectator will be subject to the following ‘MINIMUM’
penalties:
1. First Offense: Banned from attending the next Utah District Sanctioned Event the
player you were watching enters (this could be extended to include leagues and or
tournaments entered by additional family member players).
2. Second Offense: Banned from attending the next three Utah District Sanctioned Events
the player you were watching enters (this could be extended to include leagues and or
tournaments entered by additional family member players).
3. Third Offense: Banned from attending any Utah District Sanctioned Events for a
calendar year from the date of the Third Offense.
In addition, the following acts are prohibited for players and spectators:
1. Visible or audible profanity or obscenity.
2. Abuse of racquet, balls, or equipment.
3. Verbal abuse of a player or official.
4. Receipt of coaching.
5. Failure to follow the instructions of an official.
6. Any other conduct that is abusive or detrimental to the game of tennis.

CHALLENGER DIVISION
You will notice that there is a challenger and open division in each age group. Please look at each division and see what is best for you. This division will be great for players who are just starting tournaments and maybe aren't winning much yet. Here is a description of the challenger division. EXPERIENCE LEVEL: These tournaments are for the junior player with some tournament experience. Age groups 14-18 will compete with the Yellow ball. 12s will compete with the Green Dot ball. 10s will compete with the Orange ball. Players must compete in age group of their Current age. No “Playing Up” for any age group.

LATE ENTRIES
Late entries will be accepted until Sunday, February 16th at 10pm. There will be a $5 late entry fee assessed.

PLAYER CHECK-IN
Player check-in will be at your first match. Please check draws regularly to make sure you headed to the right place at the right time. You will receive a bag with your shirt, information about the tournament and coupons/gifts from the tournament.

COMPASS DRAW FORMAT
Each player will receive a handout with this information when they check-in. Here is the format of the compass so the player can find themselves in the draw. Trophies will be given to 1st and 2nd place(EAST BRACKET). 3rd place will be also awarded(NORTH EAST BRACKET). Just for some clarifications. Here is the place you took according to the bracket you finished in. EAST- 1st & 2nd Place, NORTHEAST- 3rd & 4th Place, NORTH-5th & 6th Place, NORTHWEST- 7th & 8th Place, WEST- 9th & 10th Place, SOUTHWEST-11th & 12th Place, SOUTH-13th & 14th Place, SOUTHEAST 15th & 16th Place.
At the end of each round, the winners continue in their tournament in the same direction, while the losers move to other points on the compass to form a new satellite tournament.

* The winners go east
* The losers go west
* At the end of round 2:
* The east losers go north
* The west losers go south
* At the end of round 3:
* The east losers go northeast
* The north losers go northwest
* The west losers go southwest
* The south losers go southeast

STRINGING SERVICES
If you need your racket strung during the tournament, there will be someone stringing at Desert Hills High School. Please text for this number to check on the time frame for stringing.435-709-8292.

Draw size is 16. The first 16 players in each division to sign
up will be accepted. Format for 12's Open Green Division - 12's
Open Green Division may be played by any 12's Division player (10's
eligible players may play up into this division if they have
qualified for 10's green play) who is seeking more Green Dot ball
match play. Matches will be played on 78' (full size) courts with
green low compression balls. FORMAT FOR 10'S OPEN DIVISIONS: 10's
Orange Open Divisions will be played on 60' courts with orange low
compression balls. 10's Green Open Divisions will be played on 78'
(full size) courts with green low compression balls. 10's matches
will be best of 3 short sets (first to 4 games), with a 7 point
tiebreak if the score reaches 4-4 in the first 2 sets. no-ad
scoring with a 7 point tiebreak played in lieu of the 3rd set.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Friday, February 15, 2019 11:59:00 PM Mountain Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
