Welcome to the Hunter Gallaways Tennis Academy Open UTR Championships
UTR Open Round Robins are tournaments that are based on UTR ratings. Players are divided by gender into groups of four based on UTR ratings only, and will play three singles and one doubles over two days. Singles format is the best of three tiebreak sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the third set. Doubles format is an 8-game proset with a 7-point tiebreak at 8-games all. Doubles play is mandatory. We will take 128 selections for our first event.
Players will be selected using the most recently available weekly average Universal Tennis Ratings, except that if a player has a projected rating, the daily rating will be used. These same ratings will be used to flight players into 4-player round robin draws so that players with similar ratings are in each round robin draw.
Selection lists will be published no later than the Friday following the Monday entry deadline. In the event of a delay, the publication date will be published to the tournament website. Please note that NorCal does the selections.
We anticipate and expect the best of sportsmanship at all of our events. The NorCal Zero Tolerance Policy is in effect at all times during the tournament, at off-site locations, and on social media. Please do not be late to your match! Lateness penalties are in effect and will be applied if you are not ready to play at the time of your match. Please give yourself plenty of time to travel.
Player Communications Please note that ALL player communications should be done by email to the tournament director, Hunter Gallaway at hunterhg@comcast.net with a copy to the referee. Always best to email both of us so that you can be assured that your message is received.
If you must withdraw after entries are closed, please remember that the withdrawal must be excused. For an injury or illness, there must be a verifying medical note received by the last day of the tournament to excuse this withdrawal. For a personal circumstance, the reason must be explained in enough detail for the referee to make a determination if it can be excused. Please note that you should not enter this tournament (or any other tournament) if you cannot play it to completion. Because of the way this tournament has to be scheduled, we will not be able to honor any avoidances.

Attention all alternates

If you have not confirmed your entry fee by emailing the director at hunterhg@comcast.net and paying your entry fee by 7p on Monday the 9th then you will not be put in the draw and the next alternate will be put in the draw.

How to find your start time
The following instructions are to be used after the posting of the draws on Wednesday morning * Remember that the 'Challenger' events are now called 'Entry Level' events.
YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH YOUR MATCH TIME AND LOCATION SO PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
On the right of the 'Important Information' button there is a new 'draws' button. Click on it and select the event that a player is registered to. Know that some draws (e.g. "B12s - Challenger", "B14s - Open", ...) are quite large so the system divides them in two, so a symbol (with a picture of a draw on it) allows you to select the top or bottom half of the draw and you could be on the second part of the draw. On the left of each draw, find the player's name and follow the line to the right. That will show you the first match, with a date/time and the abbreviated site name (e.g. GHS is Granada High School), The sites (names, abbreviated names, addresses and Google maps), are available on the tournament web site. Come 15 minutes before your scheduled match time. After your match, report your match result (win or lose) and then check the draws online from your phone or look at the hard draws posted at the tournament desk
